MLA, What Is It?
MLA or Modern Language Association is an format to write papers.It is an
format.This format was made to use as an normal format so everyone doesnt just
right in random formats. This includes citations,bibliography, and paragraphs.It is
used for documentations and recording.
Vocab
Plagiarism:To practice of take someone else's work or ideas and passing them off
as one's own.

Paraphrase:To write a quote in your own words

Bias:To be against something in a document or one sided.

Citation-in-text and parenthetical:To cite something in in a direct or indirect


manner. It is giving credit to the source.
Headers
Header:The introduction to an document.

According to the MLA, your essay should have a one-inch margin on the top,
bottom, left, and right. Page Numbers: Your last name and the page number
should appear in the upper right corner of each page of your essay, including the
first page, as in Jones 3. Insert your name and the page number as a "header."

The header reoccurs on every page.


Headings
For Document, Chapter and Paragraph headings, you need a "Heading" Style.

It goes like this:Upper left, name, teachers name, class and period, and date.
Title Formatting
The title should be at the top of the page and centered.

It should be original and size 12.

The title should follow normal title capitalization standards: the first letter of each
word should be capitalized with the exception of very short words such as articles
or prepositions (e.g. the, and, of, or, a, an, in, to, for). Note that the very first word
of the title should be capitalized, regardless of what kind of word it is.

It should also include the author and the date made.


Fonts
The font should be Times New Roman,Calibri, or Arial. It should also be 12 point
font and in black.
In-Text Citation
Thes type of citations can be indirect or direct.

Indirect is a quote being paraphrased.

Direct is a quote being exactly the same.

The direct citation includes where you got the info in the form of parenthesis, while
indirect citation mention where you got the info.

It should look like this for direct citations:(Authors name pg#)


Work Cited Page
This is your bibliography.

Always alphabetical

To do this you cite each resource you used in your document. The format is that
every time you citation takes up 2 lines the second line is indented.

It should look like this:

Eatttt. Edited by Dude h Dumds, Eat, Sgasgas, Apr. 1567, herts.academia.edu/.
