• Canvas is a Learning Management System or SML

• According to the Three Year Technology Play 2014-2017
for Paulding County School (2014)
• “The technology mission of the Paulding County School
District is to provide the technology infrastructure for
every student and teacher to be technology literate and
utilize technology as a vital component of the instructional
program.”
• “In the Paulding County School District, integration of
technology with curriculum is expected and, as more
teachers are becoming comfortable with newer
technology, is becoming a reality.”

What are the Technology Requirements
for Implementing Canvas into our School?
• According to Canvas (2017)
• Computer Speed and Processor
• Use a computer 5 years old or newer when possible
• 1GB of RAM
• 2GHz processor
• Internet Speed
• Along with compatibility and web standards, Canvas
has been carefully crafted to accommodate low
bandwidth environments.
• Minimum of 512kbps
What Support do Teachers Need to Insure
a Successful Integration of Canvas?
• First, I would advise a slow role out of Canvas to build
teacher confidence and support for the Learning
Management System.
• The first year of the role out need to focus on educating
teachers and administrations on the fundamental of
Canvas.
• Schools need to search for technology savvy teachers to
participate in Canvas trainings to become Canvas
Champions.
• The Canvas Champions will provide day to day support
for teachers at each local school.
What Support do Administrators Need to
Insure a Successful Integration of
Canvas?
• Provide Professional development
• At school
• Canvas Champion Training
• Before, after and in school trainings
• Through Canvas
• Web conferencing for face to face instruction
• Canvas built instructional classes for educational

• Currently there is little research on Canvas LMS
• Reach does indicate a growing popularity in LMS

collaboration and communication as students interact with
