2016-17 was around Rs. 4 lakh crores (Rs.


3,92,234 crores)
 India has emerged as a net exporter of
agricultural produce.
 Exports - Rs. 2.28 lakh crores and imports -
Rs. 1.64 lakh crores during 2016-17.
India’s major items of agricultural exports during 2016-17
are:

 Rice (Basmati and Non-Basmati) – Rs. 38,749


 Spices – Rs. 19,442
 Cotton (Raw) – Rs. 10,982
 Sugar – Rs. 8,678
 Fresh Vegetables – Rs. 5,772
 Coffee – Rs. 5,668
 Ground Nuts – Rs. 5,454
 Oil Meals – Rs. 5,371

from 7.5% to 15% (in August, 2017) to 30% (in
November, 2017).
 Import duty on Soyabean seeds hiked (from
30% to 45%)

to support faster, scientific and farmer
