How to perform a consolidation of user records with the


License Administration Workbench 2.0

Global License Auditing Services


Preparations in Component Systems

Measure all systems that are relevant for measurement, including the central system
(transaction USMM)
 Classify the users of all systems according to their activity in the system
 No need for usage of user type multi-client (ID11)
 Start system measurement
 Download the measurement results: System measurement  Export to LAW File
(or by executing the report RSLAW_PLUGIN via transaction SA38)
 Save the measurement data according to the proposed file name
 Maintain the same “code page” across all the systems as in the central system.

 7.40 is installed

Prerequisites and Getting Started

Getting Started with LAW 2.0

Start the License Administration Workbench 2.0 (LAW 2.0) with transaction code
SLAW2 in SAP GUI.

 When LAW 2.0 is started for the first time, you can confirm with Yes that the
processing of RFC results is switched to LAW 2.0.
 If you want RFC results to still be processed with the previous version of LAW,
this setting can be changed at any time.
 If you choose No RFC results will continue to be processed with the previous
LAW version.

Caution
 The License Administration Workbench 2.0 runs in a Web Browser. If the
maximum inactive time is exceeded, the connection to the server is
closed. To avoid data loss, save your work regularly.

Initial Menu

You can see the following functions in the initial menu:


 Start New Consolidation
 Later Edit Current Consolidation
 Display/Delete Complete Consolidation
 Edit Master Data

Now click on “Start New Consolidation” to start the New Consolidation.


To proceed with the previous consolidation which was not complete, click on “Edit
Current Consolidation” and proceed further .

2.1 Manage System Data

Select “Standard Mode” in the Application Tool Bar

 Click on “Import System Overview” and upload the XML file which is attached
in the audit request email.

 This xml file lists out all the relavant systems for auditing.

 You should check the below pop up and proceed further

Maintain the system data accordingly using Option “Change Relevance”.

Then click on “Manage Results”

2.2 Manage Results (1/2)

 Import the results by clicking on “Import Results”.


 You can import single file at a time or ZIP the files and upload the same.

2.2 Manage Results (2/2)

 Click on Engine Self declaration tab to declare the value of the products licensed in
your contract.
 Enter the value for the product listed else if the product is not used check the option
- Not in use

2.3 Grouping User

 Select a Common Criteria to Group the users.

 If additional Common Criteria is required then select “Extended Mode” and


use “Additional Grouping” option to select one more common criteria.

 To Display the user data which has been grouped, click on “Display User Data”

2.4 User Consolidation

 Click on “Start Consolidation”

 To Check on user combinations that cannot be consolidated click on


“Combinations that cannot be consolidated”

2.4 User Consolidation

 You can export the consolidated users into an excel by selecting


“Consolidation Export to Excel” or you can see the users list in SLAW2
itself by clicking on numbers in “Number“ column to see the consolidated
users under respective License Type.

2.5 Analyzing Results

 Here you can display the results from different perspectives.

2.6 Results Transfer

• Click on “Transfer Result to SAP”

 If unable to submit the reports through online you can use options “Save Result
Locally” or “Download XML Result” and send as an email attachment.

 Also you should enter your mail ID to receive an automatic acknowledgment if


the report is transferred online to SAP.

2.6 Results Transfer

 To display the consolidated final LAW report. Click on “Display PDF LOG”.

Edit Master Data

 You can edit the master data in the relevant process steps, or at any time by
choosing Edit Master Data . The editing options are available in the individual
processing steps in Extended Mode
