Introduction
THIS A STUDY AIMS TO KNOW THE ACCOUNTING
SYSTEM USED IN COMMERCIAL BANKS IN OMAN.

# MUSCAT BANK AND NATIONAL BANK OF OMAN

ARE FROM MAIN COMMERCIAL BANKS IN THE
SULTANATE OF OMAN.

# ACCOUNTING SYSTEM IS ONE OF THE MOST

IMPORTANT FINANCIAL SYSTEMS TO THE BANKS,
COMPANIES AND INSTITUTIONS.
 Objectives
1.To study the accounting system in each of the commercial banks in Oman.

2. To learn about the impact of the accounting system on the national economy of the
Sultanate of Oman.

3. To find extent of effect the accounting system in of commercial banks

Research Questions
The study is based on a number of research question:

1. How is the accounting system used in commercial banks?

2. What is the reason for the application of the accounting system in commercial banks?
Methods for data collection
The data are collected by two methods, using primary and secondary data.

# The primary are data were collected by many questionnaires about 30 questionnaires
distributing to each of commercial banks in the Sultanate of Oman.

# These questionnaires included some inquiries about the subject of the research.

# While, secondary data are collected from different sources such as Internet, books and
newspapers.
 Data Analysis
Q1: What is the level of the employee Satisfaction for the accounting system used by the
commercial banks?

The bar chart clearing the level of satisfaction of the employees with the accounting
system used by the commercial banks. It is clear that about 43.33% of male and
female employees are satisfied about the accounting system provided with banks.
33.33% of the employees are very satisfied with the system. While some of the
respondents are neutral at the level of their satisfaction about 16.66%. It is estimated
that about 6.66% of the employees are unsatisfied about the level of satisfaction of
the employees at the accounting system. In addition, to extremely unsatisfied level
that was not selected by the respondents.
Q2: Are commercial banks having more benefits compared to society
Islamic banks?

63% of respondents said that commercial banks have the

most benefits compared to Islamic banks. While 37% is
true, that commercial banks are more profitable than
Islamic banks
 Q3: Do you prefer dealing with Commercial banks?

83.33% of respondents that prefer dealing with commercial

banks. whereas, only 16.66% of respondents not prefer like this
the banks, but prefer other banks.
Finding
Extreme results from data analysis by the questionnaires distributed to 30 employees in
commercial banks are as follows:
1. That about 43.33% of male and female employees are satisfied about the accounting
system provided with banks.
2. 63% of respondents said that commercial banks have the most benefits compared to
Islamic banks.
3. 83.33% of respondents that prefer dealing with commercial banks.
Recommendations
From recommendations about specific rules that the employer should comply with when
using the accounting system in commercial banks are :
# confidentiality in work and non disclosure to other.
# Understand every action the system contains and work with sincerity and efficiency.
# Follow the accounting standards to achieve the goals of the bank.
Conclusion
*The study concluded that the accounting system in commercial bank will achieve big
success.

*Moreover, that the employees have a positive behavior towards dealing with accounting
system.

*It is expected to the prosperity national economy in Oman by the efficiency of

employees in the field of work.
