 What is MOCK Counselling ?
• Process through which the candidates can be educated about:
1. What is e-counseling
2. How to register for e-Counseling
3. How to fill choices of Institutions
4. What are the possible choices under different criterion

• Mock counseling is designed to simulate the actual procedure

that the student need to undergo for registering and choice filling

Mock counseling is only for practice and

Objectives of Mock Counselling

• To make the candidates aware regarding the Choice

Filling and e-Counseling procedures for WBJEE-2017

• The candidates can try various possible options

during the Mock Counselling process for their practice

• To reach to the maximum number of candidates who

have appeared in the WBJEE and JEE main- 2017

Mock Counselling Process
• 33 Help Centres are created for the purpose of Mock Counseling
during 15 to 30th May 2017 ( INCLUSIVE Sunday & HOLIDAY)
• Time of operation on each day : 11.00 am to 5.00 pm
• Each batch (slot) of presentation will be for at least 1 hour duration
• Each Centre will identify one ‘Center In-Charge’, who will be of the
level of a Faculty Member or Officer.
• Presentation should be made by ‘Help Centre’ officials
• Hands-on-Training for the candidate must be arranged
• Maximum Batch Capacity is 30 per slot or as per decision of Centre-
In-Charge ----Each candidate may be accompanied by one Guardian5
during the presentation
Infrastructure at Help Centres
• The Help Centers need to arrange 10 computers or laptops for hands-on
training of the candidates
• 2 projectors (one working and one standby) for demonstration
• 1 laptop for the presenter
• A separate room or laboratory for organizing the process
• The Board will supply Internet Dongle with SIM for the new institutes (12
out of 33)--- identified as help centers
• The Centers will display 2 banners at strategic locations for the benefit of
the candidates ---format of Banner will be provided by WBJEEB
• The Center-in-Charge will be supported by 2 Faculty Members, 1 Technical
Staff and 2 Group D staff on each day during the Mock Counseling
• Centre must keep a separate attendance log book and submit the same to
WBJJEB at the end of mock conselling. 6
• Log Book must contain Name, Roll number, category, Mobile No., E-mail,
signature of the candidates.

Procedure for Choice filling
• The candidates have to register for the e-Counselling process by
paying necessary fees
• Single registration for WBJEE and JEE (Mains).
• Selection of the Institutes and course/programme solely depends
on candidate’s own preference
• Candidate can refer to OPENING and CLOSING rank of previous
year as an indicator (available on-------- www.wbjeeb.nic.in)
• Number of the choices can be as many as possible
• Order of choice can be altered
• Choice can added and removed
• Candidate can access multiple times to select/change his/her
choice within the time stipulated by WBJEEB
• Once choice is locked change or modification or rectification is

NOT possible at the time of e-counseling.
 WBJEE e-Counselling – 2017-
after allotment
• Initial Fee to be paid by e-Chalan or Debit or Credit Card through
Banks (No Demand Draft/Cash/Cheque) after allotment.
• Three Rounds (Round 1,2 &3) of counselling
• Reporting at RC is a must after first allotment of seat
• Candidates must report to RC to opt NO-UPGRADATION after
allotment of his/her preferred seat
• Candidates must bring the original documents for verification at RC

• No Seat will be allocated to PIOs/OCIs/Foreign Nationals through
WBJEE 2017
IMPORTANT FACTS TO SHARE
• Candidates must keep the pass word secured and will
not share it with any one

• Candidates must fill the choice list in the

descending order of his/her preference
(most desired choice at the top of the
choice list)
• Allotment of Institute/programme will be based on rank
and in accordance with his/her locked choice
