ABSTRACT

• This paper describes about the designing of a trolley


based on RFID reader for supermarket automation.
• An RFIDreader with electronic hardware system is fitted
with the trolley to make the purchase comfortable. Those
items which are abovethe particular amount are fixed
with the RFID card whose price is fixed into the reader.
• When item is shown in front of the reader,the amount of
the item is added to the purchase bill, and is shown on the
LCD display.
Introduction
• By using this system any person can control the speed and
direction of DC motor by using a Android Smart phone.
• Android smart phone will be having a software running on it.
• This software will have some buttons. By pressing each button
phone will send a command to receiver section by using
Bluetooth link.
• According to these commands motor at the receiver end will
change its direction and speed.
• The trolley is programmed in such a waythat it will find
the rack number displayed on the LCD.
• It also has the provision for removing the items from the
trolley where thecost is removed from the total cost .Once
the items are added, the cost is added up and when it
crosses the certain limit, it gives analarm signal to
indicate that the customer budget has exceeded.
• All this information is send to a computer for billing
update through wireless link network, which facilitate
the billing system even faster and reduces time.

Working
• Any person who wants to control the motor will first pair his
phone with this system.
• Phone will be connected with this system by using Bluetooth
link.
• When any button will be pressed on Android phone then phone
will send the command to this system.
• HC05 Bluetooth receiver will receive these commands and give
it to microcontroller Atmega16.
• According to the received command microcontroller will control
the motor drive IC L293.
• L293 will control the speed and direction of DC motor.
