 A resident of Delhi during his visit to Guwahati
realizes that the last date upto which he can apply for
CGLE is over by 10 days . However , still 5 days are
available for persons applying from North-Eastern
States . He submits his application by post from
Guwahati ,indicating in the application his Delhi
address as postal address where the Admit Card is to
be sent .The SSC rejects his application stating that he
is resident of Delhi . He submits a representation .
 Residing :- To live in a place permanently or
for an extended period .
 Correspondence / Communication address
:- It means the address to which
correspondence (letters) can be sent
 Far flung area :- located in a very distant
place which are remote from rest of the
country and remain isolated
 He is a permanent resident of Delhi
 He has fulfill all the other conditions of eligibility
regarding age limits, educational qualifications etc.,
prescribed for admission to the examination in
notification of CGLE
 He has indicated centre of Examination as Delhi in
application form
 He has submitted his application form to Northern
Region Office of the Commission i.e. Delhi
 Whether the extension in last date for submission
of application is applicable to him or not ....?
• This extension in closing date is applicable only
to candidates who are residing in far flung areas
to expand the capacity

We may send him an official letter stating following facts :-

 As the Last date for submission of application is mentioned

in the notification itself and is meant for candidates
residing in North-East Region and cannot be applied in
case of candidates residing in Delhi…Hence his application
is rightly rejected.
 The decision of the Commission in all matters relating to
acceptance or rejection of the applications will be final and
binding on the candidates and no enquiry/correspondence
will be entertained in this regard.

 In this case Regional Director of NR approval

is ample as matter pertains to NR
