❏ The houses are mostly
made out of wood and
not a lot of windows
especially for the
normal middle class
people
❏ The richest houses are
outrageous they are
the opposite from
middle class/peasant
houses
Cars
Their cars are made
really small mostly
and they do have
exotic cars such as
lamborghinis and
such but and
average japan
citizens have those
small cars.
Food
~In japan the typical cuisine is based on
rice with miso soup. The side dishes
normally are fish,pickled vegetables,and
vegetables cooked in broth.

~Seafood is very common there. It can


either be grilled or served raw,such as
sushi or sashimi.

~Japan shunned meat but as Japan


modernized in the 1880’s,meat dishes
became common. Sushi became very
popular throughout the whole world
Japanese clothing
There are typically two types of clothing that
the Japanese wear:the Japanese clothing
such as Kimonos and the Western
clothing.One of the most noticeable changes
in Japanese culture is the clothing,Kimonos
and kosodes are two of the most popular
traditional Japanese items of clothing.The
world Kimono means “thing to
wear”,traditionally,the art of assembling
kimono was passed on from mother to
daughter.
Music
~Japanese music has a wide variety
of music. Performers have distinct
styles either traditional or modern.

~Ongaku is the music word in Japan.


Japan is the largest music market in
the world.

~The local music normally appears at


karaoke venues. Traditional and
western music are different,its based
on breathing instead of
mathematical timing.
Traditions: Fukusasa lucky Bamboo
Branches.
Several shrines in Japan hold a market to sell
bamboo branches decorated with lucky items
to local business people in January.Armies of
Miko are hired to decorate the branches
known as Fukusasa.
Traditions:Floating Lanterns

The Japanese tradition of floating lanterns in


rivers,known as Toro Nagashi, is a ceremony
used to celebrate the Japanese Obon holiday,a
time of year when it’s believed that the spirits
of loved ones return to the world.
Religion

The main religion in Japan is


Buddhism. They study and
practice Buddhism in various
temple all across japan.
Language

Here in Japan most people


speak japanese. This
language has been going for
centuries.
Dances

Japanese traditional dance has a long


story,the oldest known ones may be
among those transmitted through the
Kagura tradition or Folk dances relating to
food producing activities such as planting
rise and fishing,including rain dances.
