CONTENT METHOD LEARNING
All methods of language teaching involve the use of the target
language. All methods thus involve overt or covert decisions concerning
the selection of language items (words, sentence patterns, tenses,
constructions, functions, topics, etc) that are to be used within a course
or method. Decisions about the choice of language content relate both
to subject matter and linguistic matter. In straightforward terms, one
makes decisions about what to talk about (subject matter) and how to
talk about it (linguistic matter).
