• The trackable pill was first approved by the US Food &
Drug Administration in 2002 as a treatment for
schizophrenia.
• The sensor technology was permitted for marketing in
2012.
• The trackable pill was developed in order for doctors to
keep track of their patients’ intake of prescribed medicine.
DOCUMENT’S MAIN POINT
• The system of the trackable pill given to patients was for
doctors to monitor if their patients were taking their
medicine on schedule.
• It also helps doctors manage complicated medical
routines of diabetic patients and other conditions.
ANALYSIS OF EACH SEGMENT
• The trackable pill allows an easier way for patients and
doctors to have a smooth medical routine.
• However it could also affect the privacy of patients. The
technology has intrusive consequences.
