Through sexual contact:

 Zika virus is transmitted to the
people through sexual activity.

 Condoms can reduce the chance of

getting Zika from sex.
From mother to child:

 Zika virus can pass from a pregnant

woman to her fetus during
pregnancy or around the time of
birth.

 Prevention
To eliminate and control the
mosquito, it is recommended to:

containers.

 Cover exposed skin with long-sleeved shirts,

trousers, and hats.

 Use screens and mosquito nets in windows and

doors to reduce contact between mosquitoes
and people.

 Use insect repellents

 Unblock drains that could accumulate standing

water.
