Vaccines
 My project covers all aspects of vaccinations
 What are vaccinations?
 Why are they helpful?
 Why did I choose vaccines?
 Curious as to why some might choose to not get vaccinated?
 Personal background
Definition

 What are vaccines and how do they work?

 Vaccines contain part of the virus or bacteria that induce protective immune
response.
 They are called immunological components
 They are made from inactivated bacterial proteins or bacterial sugars called
polysaccharides.
 Each ingredient evokes a distinct immune response
 Some of the disease that vaccines prevent are Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis,
Polio, Hepatis and many more.

Make Up of Vaccines
 What are inside the vials?
 Immunological components
 Inactivated bacterial proteins or bacterial sugars called
polysaccharides.
 Bacterial proteins and viral proteins
 Antigens and adjuvants
 Preservatives and Stabilizers
 Cell culture, inactivated ingredients, antibiotics
Side Effects
 All medications have side effects
 Example the measles vaccines can cause a decrease in platelets
 Allergic reactions
 There is no prove in any study that has been done that says that vaccines cause diseases.

Product
 My product is a poster detailing the facts about vaccines
 Since my main focus is pediatrics, the poster has to be colorful and friendly
 How I will complete it?
 I gathered facts and statistics
 Created a poster that is creative and interesting
- I mmunization through vaccination is the safest
way to protect against disease.
- There is no link between vaccines and autism.
- I t is always best to get vaccinated, even when
you think the risk of inf ection is low.
- I f we stop vaccination, deadly diseases will
return.
-I mmunization currently prevents between 2-3
million deaths every year.
-I n 2016, f ewer children were paralyzed by polio
than in any other year.
-Vaccines serve as a f rontline def ense against
antimicrobial resistance created by overuse and
misuse of antibiotic.
