2 What is Benchmarking??

 Benchmarking is a process of measuring the performance of a

company’s products, services or processes against those of another
business considered to be best in industry.

“ Improving ourselves by
learning from others”
3 OBJECTIVES

 Benchmarking between MNIT Jaipur and NIT Trichy on the basis of

B.Tech mechanical program including general institute
requirements, core courses, elective courses and essential program
laboratory.

 Identify key performance indicators we should be focused on that

we are not today.

12 Suggestions..

 In general institute requirement courses (GIRC), basic engineering courses are of 10

credits in MNIT Jaipur as compared to 4 in NITT. Here, we may reduce the no. of
credits to give students more time to work on their skills.

 In GIRC, we may include basic civil engineering in MNIT Jaipur.

 We should add compressible flow and jet propulsion as an program elective course in
MNIT jaipur.

 We should include industrial safety engineering as an open elective course in MNIT

Jaipur.
