– Zarzuela Represents a significant development in Philippine theatre
– It showcases the Filipino costume and characters.
– Its different from the opera because it is heavy with dialogue ; songs and dances
take up only on some part of the story.
Cenaculo

– The most outstanding and enduring of all religious drama.


– It is a play based on the passion and death and the
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
– Originally it was only played during Maunday Thursday and
Good Friday.
– Today it is being played from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday.

entertainment or for the purpose of understanding
oneself and others.
– It portrays various aspects of life on stage before the
audience or spectators.
– It is rehearsed under a director.
– A script is provided for the entire production.

end.
– Characters – refers to the people involved in the story. Their roles are played by
dramatic actors.
– Theme – is the controlling idea or central insight. The central unifying concept
of the story.
– Dialogue – refers to the verbal interactions among the characters that advance
the dramatic play.
– Setting – the visual environment in which the play is performed.
