A. Adverb of quantuty

Adverb of quantity is a form of adverb used to


describe a certain amount of strength or amount of
things. If adverb is usually followed by the verb or
adverb it self then on adverb of quantity, adverb or
adverb is followed by noun or noun. In adverb of
quantity we can use the question how much and how
many.
Adverb of quantity is divided into 2 types:
countable noun and uncountable noun.
1. COUNTABLE NOUN
Countable noun is divided into several
kinds:
A lot / lots (Many)
A few (some)
Too many / Too few
2. UNCOUNTABLE NOUN

Uncountable noun Used for that can not be


calculated and has several kinds that are as
follows.
A lot / lots of
Little / Less
Much / More
Too much / To little
B. USE “OF” IN QUNATITY

•Most books are interesting. (CORRECT)
•Most of books are interesting. (INCORRECT)

MOST + OF + SPECIFIC NOUN


•Most of those books are mine.
•Most of my books are in English.
•Most of the books on that table are mine.
EXPRESSIONS OF QUANTITY FOLLOWED BY
"OF" + A SPESIFIC NOUN

1. All, most, some/ any + of + specific plural countable/


uncountable noun
Example :
Countable noun : Most of those chairs are uncomfortable.
Uncountable noun : Most of that furniture is uncomfortable.

2. any, a few, several, both, two, one + of + specific


plural countable noun
Example :
Countable noun : Many of those chairs are uncomfortable

3. Much, a little + of + specific plural uncountable noun
