IS 1239 P(I) : 2004 Standard covers the requirement of ERW Steel tubes intended to
use for water, non hazardous gases, air and steam. This standard is widely used in

IS 3589

IS 3589 : 2001 Standard applies to steel pipes for water & sewage. It covers a wide
range of diameters, from OD 168.3 mm to OD 2540.0 mm. Utkarsh has manufacturing
capability of up to OD 406.4 mm. This standard is widely used in collieries for
extraction of water, thermal power plants, transports, industrial pipe lines, agriculture

EN 10255

EN 10255:2004+A1:2007 specifies the requirements for circular non-alloy steel tubes

suitable for welding and threading and provides a number of options for the finish of
tube ends and coatings. This standard covers tubes of specified outside diameter 10,2
mm to 165,1 mm (thread size 1/8 to 6) in two series, medium and heavy, and three
types of designated thicknesses.

AS 1074

AS 1074-1989 specifies requirements for threaded steel tubes and tubulars, and plain-
end steel tubes suitable for screwing, and of DN 8 to DN 150 inclusive (nominal size).
Utkarsh India have production capacity from DN 15 to DN 150 .Three wall thicknesses
of tube, designated Light, Medium, and Heavy.
This standard widely used in domestic as well as in industrial areas right from liquid

ASTM A53

ASTM A53 Standard Spec. for Pipe, Steel, Black and Hot-Dipped, Zinc-Coated, Welded and
Seamless This specification covers Seamless and Welded, Black and Hot-Dipped Galvanized
nominal (average) wall pipe for coiling, bending, flanging and other special purposes and is
suitable for welding. Each length of pipe shall be subjected to the hydrostatic test. Also, each pipe
shall be examined by a non-destructive examination method in accordance to the required
practices.

ASTM A795

ASTM A795 Covers seamless and welded, black and hot-dipped galvanized nominal wall pipe. For
coiling, bending, flanging and is suitable for welding. Pipe ordered for this specification is intended for
use in free protection system.
This standard widely used in Fire Sprinkler Pipe applications. Light-weight pipe is suitable for joining
by welding and by rolled grooving while the standard-weight pipe is suitable cut or rolled groove,
threading, and welding.

BS 1387

BS 1387:1985 specifies requirements for screwed and socketed steel tubes and tubulars, and plain-
end steel tubes suitable for screwing, and of DN 8 to DN 150 inclusive (nominal size). Utkarsh is
capable to production facilities to DN 15 to DN 150 .Three wall thicknesses of tube, designated Light,
Medium, and Heavy.

GROOVED PIPES

Roll grooving removes no metal, cold forming a groove by the action of an upper male roll being forced
into pipe as it iS rotated by a lower female drive roll.
Roll groove configuration has rounded edges which reduce the available pipe end movement
(expansion, contraction and deflection).

NZS 1163

This standards specifies the requirements for cold-formed, electric resistance welded, carbon steel
hollow sections used for structural purposes. It considers three strength grades, with or without
impact properties that are suitable for welding.

EN 39 : 2001 standards applies for construction of false work and working scaffolds .this standards
have a specified outside diameter of 48.3 mm and specified thickness of 3.2 mm or 4.0 mm .it may be

EN 10219

EN 10219-1 & 2 : 2006 specifies the technical delivery conditions for cold formed welded structural
hollow sections of circular, square or rectangular forms and applies to structural hollow sections
formed cold without subsequent heat treatment.

Cold formed structural hollow sections ensure high mechanical resistance and a high yield point. They
are used to make fixed load-bearing structures in civil, industrial and mechanical constructions. Cold
formed hollow sections withstand static pressures but show low resilience to shocks and ripping,
therefore they are less appropriate for constructions subject to dynamic pressures at low
temperatures.
