Jesus Was Born in Bethlehem, April 6, 1 B.C.

 After summarizing the opinions of various
scholars in the matter of Christ’s birthday,
Elder James E. Talmage compares their
conclusions with modern revelation and
then affirms: “We believe that Jesus Christ
was born in Bethlehem of Judea, April 6,
B.C. 1 (Jesus the Christ, p. 104.)
Killed on His Birthday
 President Harold B. Lee:
 “This is the annual conference of the church. April 6, 1973, is a
particularly significant date because it commemorates not only
the anniversary of the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints in this dispensation, but also the anniversary
of the birth of the Savior, our Lord and Master, Jesus
Christ. [Quoted D&C 20: 1]” (CR, Apr. 1973 p 4)

Killed on His Birthday

our present calendar, may be helpful in
understanding the birthday of the
Lord.
Killed on His Birthday
 Easter, BD, pg. 659
– This word occurs only once in the Bible (Acts 12: 4) and
then would be better translated passover. The word Easter
is from Eastre, a Norse goddess whose pagan festival was
observed at the spring equinox. The association of this
pagan goddess with the celebration of the resurrection of
Jesus Christ was only be adaptation and synthesis. There
is no real connection. Jesus, being the Lamb of God, was
crucified at passover time and is the true Passover (see 1
Cor. 5: 7). He was raised from the grave on the third day
thereafter. It thus became a springtime anniversary, and
has come to be called Easter in the Christian world.

times at the beginning of His ministry.
 Matthew 27:40-43
– If thou be the Son of God, come down from the
cross
– If he be the King of Israel, let him now come
down from the cross, and we will believe him.
– He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he
will have him.
