 Economy in Indonesia is influenced by several
things. Now, the Indonesia government to increase
economic growth through the creative economy
with various policy.

 One of the most important thing from the creative

economy that can make indonesian economy growth
is from film industry.
There are two influences from the film industry to
economy in indonesia :
1. The film industry can increase the national income

2. The film industry can expand job opportunities

 Sheila Timothy ( In Kompas, 2016) said “The
government has made the creative economy an
important pillar in its national economic
development strategy. The film industry, as part
of the creative economy, has a big potential to
contribute to the country.”
 Michael C. Ellis (Director of the Motion Picture
Association (MPA) Asia-Pacific region,in Berita
Satu, 2012) said “Indonesia as a place of creativity
and film production communities have innovative
talent that continues to grow. The results of this
study see there are good economic effect to
continue to build this sector."
 The Indonesian film industry helped generate a
contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of
US $ 1.23 million.
 Film Industry could increase foreign exchange in
this country.
 The Indonesian film and TV industry
contributed over $845 million to the
country’s economy in 2010, creating
191,000 jobs and £86.5 million in tax
revenue.

 Film industry can decrease

unemployment in Indonesia.

 Increase the cinema theater in

Indonesia
 The film industry can influence economy in
Indonesia.

 Film industry can increase national income from

GDP and foreign exchange.

 Film industry can expand job opportunities from

additional cinema theater.
