For CAT-5e installations, there are two methods of Ethernet termination indoors:
Gigabit Power Injector for -48V DC input (IDU-GPI)

• Used for indoor termination of Ethernet services at AP or CPE
• -48V DC input (coupled onto single CAT-5e cable with Ethernet data)
Phihong Power Injector for 110/220V AC input (IDU-PI-60W)
• Used for indoor termination of Ethernet services at AP or CPE

• 110/240V AV input (coupled onto single CAT-5e cable with Ethernet data)

Lightning Surge Protecction
Different modules must be used for lightning surge protection depending on power cable:
2-core cable lightning surge protection (LP-AP)
• Used for AP 2-core power installations

(AP data connection made using separate single mode fibre)
CAT-5 cable lightning surge protection (LP-GE)
• Used for AP or CPE CAT-5e only installations

(Data and -48V DC power are carried on CAT-5e cable)
