INDICATOR 1
SCIENCE
Objective Learning objective

To explore the To analyze

matter structure, matter of the creation
properties and changes, identifying matter
recognizing God as the structure and their
creator of Matter. properties.
Biblical principle: God created matter!

Genesis 1:1-2
New King James Version (NKJV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty,
darkness was over the surface of the deep, and
the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
• Remember that we do it all for the Lord:
• Colossians 3:17
• New King James Version (NKJV)
• 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
God the Father through Him.
• Whole brain teaching
• Rule 1: Listen when your teacher is talking
• . Rule 2: Follow directions quickly
• Rule 3: Respect others. Respect yourself. Respect your school
• Rule 4: Raise your hand to speak or stand
• Rule 5: Be safe, Be kind, Be honest for the glory of God
• Boston International School
• Rule 6: Use English at all times, it is the only way to improve
• Rule 7: Do not translate what your teacher says, please.
• Rule 8: Take risks and learn from your mistakes.
Looking into the nature of atoms, creation is
clearly seen. When God created, He brought
order to the universe even in the smallest
things, for God is not the author of
confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
Vocabulary
1. Atom
2. Electron
3. Proton
4. Neutron
5. Matter
• "Matter Experiment"

GROUP: 3 students.
Metacognition

Recommendations for students:

• Students will conduct an experiment on the changes and
properties of matter and the changes they have
experienced in their Christian life.
• Students must submit the title of the experiment, the
materials to be used, and the description of this

• The central idea of each experiment must have an

explanation, and / or biblical application.
• 3. READING - WRITING:
"Matter Experiment"

GROUP: 3 students.
Metacognition.
Recommendations for students:
• Students will make a descriptive report of the
experiments their classmates will present in the lab.
• Reports will be presented in groups.
• The report should include an explanation not only of the
experiment but also of biblical application.

It should be noted that as the students present their

presentations, the other groups will take notes for their
final report.
THE ATOM
• The atom is the basic building block for all matter in the
universe. Atoms are extremely small and are made up of a
few even smaller particles. The basic particles that make
up an atom are electrons, protons, and neutrons. Atoms fit
together with other atoms to make up matter. It takes a lot
of atoms to make up anything.
• Structure of the Atom At the center of the atom is the
nucleus. The nucleus is made up of the protons and
neutrons. The electrons spin in orbits around the outside
of the nucleus.
• The Proton :
• The proton is a positively charged particle that is located
at the center of the atom in the nucleus.

• The Electron :
• The electron is a negatively charged particle that spins
around the outside of the nucleus. Electrons spin so fast
around the nucleus. Electrons are attracted to the
nucleus by the positive charge of the protons. Electrons
are much smaller than neutrons and protons.

• The Neutron : The neutron doesn't have any charge.

The number of neutrons affects the mass and the
radioactivity of the atom.
“Matter exists in three different
states”

Matter can exist in three different

states, or forms. You can observe
matter as a

 Solid,
 Liquid
 Gas
SOLID

 Definite Shape.
 Definite Volume.
 Particles close together, fixed.
 Little free space between particles
 Does not flow easily
 rigid - particles cannot move/slide past
one another
LIQUID

 Liquids have mass.

 Liquids take the shape of their
container and have definite volume.
 Liquids take up space.
 particles can move/slide past one
another
 not easily compressible
 little free space between particles
 flows easily
GAS
 particles can move past one another
 Compressible
 Lots of free space between particles
 Flows easily
 Gases spread out to fill the entire space
given and do not have definite volume.
 Gases have mass.
 Gases take up space.
