What is Strategic Leadership?

 Strategic leadership provides the vision and


direction for the growth and success of the
Organization.
 It provides the Managers, an ability to
articulate a vision for the Company and
motivate employees to act according to that
vision.

 Willingness to Delicates and Empower.

influence the strategic intent and strategic
mission of the organization.
Factors Affecting Managerial Decisions:

There are main three types of factors which


affect manger’s decision:

 External environmental factors


 Characteristics of the Organization
 Characteristic of the Manager.
External Environmental Factor: There are
many external factors that influence
managerial decisions
 Structure of the Industry
 Market’s growth rate
 Competition in the Market
 Political and Legal situation
 Degree of differentiation of the product etc.
Characteristic of the Organization:
 Size of the Organization
 Age of the organization (i.e. From How many
years Organization is in existence?)
 Work culture of the Organization
 Availability of resource
 Level of formal and informal communication
among the employees etc.
Characteristic of the Manager: Personal
factors like are ideal
 tolerance for ambiguity
 commitment to the firm and its desired
strategic outcomes

Types of Managers
Among strategic leaders, there are managers operating at
different levels of an organization:
 Corporate level managers: include the CEO, senior executives

and the corporate staff.


 Business level managers: include the general manager and vice

president.
 Functional level managers: include specific department

managers like marketing and operations.


 Operational level managers: include deputy managers or

assistant managers.
Goals of Strategic leadership
Productivity is the main goal of strategic
leadership.
Another goal is to create an environment in
which employees anticipate the company's
need in relation to their own job.
 Strategy or careful planning before making any
changes in the company is absolutely critical in
a strategic style of leadership.
