Evaluating the

Effectiveness of Using
Strategic Intervention
Material in Improving
the Academic
Performance of Grade
7-Sampaguita
Statement of the Problem

1.How may Academic Performance

of Grade 7-Sampaguita be
described if Strategic Intervention
Material will be used?

2.How may the student’s response

be described through implementing
Strategic Intervention Material in
their class?
3.How may the level
of performance of
Grade 7-Sampaguita be
described based on
their pretest and post-
test scores using the
Strategic Intervention
Material in teaching
Araling Panlipunan?
Hypothesis of Study

Implementing Strategic
Intervention Material has
no significant effect of in
the level of performance of
Grade 7-Sampaguita of
Mystical Rose College of
Science and Technology.
Significance of the Study
The foremost goal of the study is to
help the students achieve higher
academic performance through
implementing Strategic
Intervention Material in their
Araling Panlipunan subject. The
results may serve as basis for the
students, teachers, and school
administrators to improve their
teaching and learning process.
To the students, the study
will be a great help to achieve
higher goal in their academic
performance and to help them
evaluate their self if they are
improving through the help of
the Strategic Intervention
Material. It can also help them
to become independent in their
studies and to learn through
their own efforts.
To the teacher, the output of this
study will help them know how to
assist their students to achieve
higher order thinking skills or to help
the students become competitive in
terms of their academic
performance, this can also a great
help for the teachers to know what
kind of Strategic Intervention
Material can effectively use as a
remedy to improve the academic
performance of the students.
To the school administrators, as a
primary objective of this study is
to enhance the capability of the
students to earn higher level of
performance, critical thinking
skills, and to achieve higher
marks in their academic
performance especially in Araling
Panlipunan subject. The finding
can be a basis and foundation for
those who are interested in the
society.
Scope and Limitations
This study focuses on evaluating
the academic performance of
students by using Strategic
Intervention Materials. The Grade
7- Sampaguita students of
Mystical Rose College of Science
and Technology in the year 2017-
2018 were the respondents of the
study. Researcher will focuses on
the outcomes of this study.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researcher selected the
Grade 7-Sampaguita students as
respondents. The respondents
were provided with questionnaire
and given ample time to finish.
The gathering of data took two (2)
days. Afterwards, the data were
analysed and the analysis took
three (3) days.

Table 4.2 Based on the table, the
highest score range achieved by
eighteen (62.06 of population %)
students of Grade 7-Sampaguita
is between one to nine, and
eleven (37.93% of population) got
the ranging score from ten to
nineteen. Evidence from this
table clearly state that a test
without discussion will result to a
lower scores of the respondents.

Table 4.3 Represents the result of the post-
test. As shown in the table it indicates that
twenty students (68.97 of population) got the
highest score ranging from ten to nineteen,
and there are also (3.5% of population) who
got the ranging score from twenty to thirty,
which is interpreted as very good compared
to the data presented in Table 4.3 wherein
only eleven students (37.93% of population)
got the ranging scores from ten to nineteen,
which is interpreted as poor. It implies that
using the Strategic Intervention Materials
(SIMs) during discussion has a positive
output and had commendable impact on the
student academic performance.
CONCLUSION
Based on the result of the
study conducted by the
researcher, the hypothesis
that implementing strategic
intervention material has no
significant effect on the
level of performance of
Grade 7-Sampaguita was
rejected.
RECOMMENDATION
