Wiring Operation of

Washing Machine
(Wash Tub)
Wiring Operation of
Washing Machine
(Wash Tub)
Inner parts of a Washing Machine
AC Cord used to connect the unit to power source.
Fuse used to protect the whole circuit.
Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) serves as
switch of a washing machine.
Capacitor used to store charge to start the motor
moving when the device turns on.
Motor is an electromechanical device that converts
electrical energy into mechanical energy or motion.
Lets do the

WIRING
Procedure in identifying the terminal
of motor
• Using multi-tester set the range selector knob
to resistance.

• Get the resistance value by A

connecting the probes with the
following arrangement:
A& B A& C B&C
M B
C
• Add all “A”,add all “B”, add all “C”
Condition

START =Highest resistance

RUN =Second highest resistance
COMMON =Lowest resistance
EXAMPLE
A A & B = 7ohms
A & C =5 ohms
M B
C
C & B =12 ohms

Add all A’s Add all B’s Add all C’s

7Ω + 5Ω 7Ω + 12Ω 5Ω + 12Ω
12 Ω 19 Ω 17 Ω
Common Start Run
I. Direction: Match column A to column B, write the letter
of the correct answer on your paper.
Column A Column B
1. Responsible to the rotation happened in
the washing machine. A. AC cord
B. Fuse
2. Terminal of the motor that has the lowest
C. Start
resistance.
D. SPDT
3. Protects the whole circuit. E. Motor
4. Store charges to make the motor spin F. Common
5. Terminal of a motor that has the highest G. Capacitor
resistance. H. Run
6. Connects the unit to the power source.

II. Draw the schematic diagram of a washing machine

(wash motor). (4pts)
Key to correction
I. Matching Type
1. E 4. G
2. F 5. C
3. B 6. A
II. Identification (7-10)
ASSIGNMENT
Direction: Answer the following questions and write in a 1 whole
sheet of paper to be submitted on July 10, 2018(Tuesday) at
industrial arts room.
1. With the given data bellow what is the color of the wire that is
connected to the AC cord?
• Red=145 ohms
• Blue=143 ohms
• Yellow =160 ohms
2. Search for the possible symptoms of washing machine and write
the procedure on how to troubleshoot those symptoms.
