– The church is “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Christ himself being the chief cornerstone (Eph 2:20)
– NT sees the succession between the apostles and today apostolic witness
is conceived as a continuous line of faithfulness to the testimony of the
apostles sustained by the Holy Spirit.
