EQUIPMENT
1
Objective of the study
• General Objective
• Specific Objective 1
General Objective

To design and build smart devices that

can be integrated to a traditional PPE. The
smart devices can monitor the
environmental parameters required by the
user, alert the user, and help increase the
work efficiency.

2
Specific Objective

▰ To create a modular smart device that

can monitor the environmental conditions
in the location of the worker in which the
user can chose any available parameters
that it will monitor.

3
Specific Objective

▰To increase the work efficiency of a

worker using smart devices that can
interact with the worker while at work.

4
Specific Objective

▰To promote the utilization of Internet-of-

Things and its innovative application to our
society.

Scope and Limitation:

8
Scope of the Study

▰The output of the project might give an

inspiration to companies/individuals using
PPE to innovate their existing PPE with
additional safety and advance features.

9
Limitations of the Study:

▰The enclosures for the smart devices are not

intrinsically safe.
▰The smart devices are not water proof.
▰The microprocessor will be using LiPo batteries as
a power source.
▰The enclosure for the prototype will be 3D-printed
10
Limitations of the Study:

▰The short device requires of WIFI work these

devices might also interfere with other device within
the facility or area
▰High voltage and EMFs from generator s might
interfere with the performance of the devices
▰The smart devices are not chemical/corrosion
proof
▰The smart devices are not water and dust proof 11
Limitations of the Study:

▰The smart devices are not shock proof

▰The smart devices are not flame or explosion proof
▰The smart devices are not intrinsically safe and increased
safety.
▰The smart PPE has no wear detector; therefore, it can’t detect
unacceptable wear to cause malfunction of the sensors, and
etc.
▰The sensor that will be used are the sensors that are opened
source. 12
