Main Units & Description
Support Control Unit (SCU) The SCU controls the fans and supports the external EC-bus including power to the SAU.
Power Connection Unit (PCU) The PCU is a DC or AC interface for the RBS.
Power Connection Filter (PCF)( The PCF connects -48 V DC power from the site batteries to the BFU.
The RU receives digital data and converts it to analog signals. It also receives radio signals
Radio Units (RU) and converts these to digital signals.
Power Distribution Unit (PDU) The PDU distributes fused -48 V DC power to the units in the RBS.
The SHU connects peripheral.units such as PSUs, PDUs, DUs, and the SCU to the EC bus.
Support Hub Unit (SHU) The SHU is required if the RBS is equipped with PSUs.
The PSU converts incoming voltage to -48 V DC system voltage. The PSU is available for
Power Supply Unit (PSU) 120-250 V AC and +24 V DC, -48 V DC, -60 V DC.
The PFU is mandatory for an -48 V DC powered RBS or an AC fed RBS with external
Power Filter Unit (PFU) battery backup. One PFU can support up to six RUs.
Power Connection Filter (PCF) The PCF connects -48 V DC power from the site to the busbar.
The BFU supervises, connects, and disconnects the battery backup. The BFU can be
Battery Fuse Unit (BFU) installed inside (internal) or outside the cabinet (external).
A space for optional equipment is provided that can be used for optional transmission
equipment. The space is 4 U high and 19 inches wide, and extends 250 mm behind and 50
mm in front of the 19–inch mounting rails. There are 40 mm spaces for cables at the front
and the rear. 400 W is reserved in the power consumption budget and 240 W for heat
Space for optional transmission equipment dissipation.
