Assessment is to test

FIRST FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Learning outcome:

To be able to know, recognize, identify the new number.

Strand:

Numbers

Why did I choose this assessment?

I choose this assessment because it will help me to know each student if he are able to recognize number 1, and if he can see the
differences between number 1 and other numbers.

Description:

KG1 students will have a paper that include different numbers from 1 to 9, they should find the number 1 and circle it. This
assessment will show me if the students are able to recognize the number or not.

Grading criteria:

I have graded this assessment by looking at each paper that have the student’ name and see if they can recognize the number
and if they know the differences between the numbers. These papers will added to each student’ profile.

Results:

Almost all of the students are able to recognize the new number which is number 1, because number 1 is easy for them.
SECOND FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Type of assessment:

Formative assessment, activity Theme of the week: Baking

Curriculum area:

Literacy –Letter Bb

Learning outcome:

The students will be able to know new letter, new vocabularies.

Strand: Phonics

Why did I choose this assessment?

I choose this assessment because it can help the students to remember the vocabularies of the week, they will also be
able to relate the words on the flash cards to the letter Bb by looking to the word above the picture and see that it start
with the same letter. This activity will develop their cognitive skills.

Description:

Here the students will have some small flash cards that include vocabularies start with letter B and a laminated paper
for letter Bb, the student should choose the cards start with letter B and stick it on the big letter. They will know that
the picture on the card start with Bb because the word of each picture written above it.

Grading criteria:

I have graded this assessment by using a checklist that include some columns, such as; know the sound of the letter,
know the letter, understand the letter, and finish the activity correctly. I will put correct sign if they can do it, I will
put X if they cant do it, and I will draw a circle if they can do it but with help.

Results:

In general, everyone do the activity correctly because this section of KG1 very smart and can solve the activities fast.
Some of them just need a help on the activity and one student need more practice on the letter and need more help
because he is special needs student.
THIRD FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Learning objective:

Memorizing numbers from1 to 4, it will improve the students fine motor skills.

Strand: Numbers

Why did I choose this assessment?

I chose this type of assessment to make it like a game to have an enjoyable Math lesson.

I chose this type of assessment to strengthen their memory.

I chose this type of assessment to expand their imagination.

Description:

The activity is all about apple that have a slot between the two sides of the apple,

the students will count the blue dots on the apple then will search for the right wood

stick that include the right number that considered as a worm, then inter it inside the slot as the real worms.

Grading criteria:

The assessment was very imaginary and entertaining for all the student levels, so they all pass the assessment with high grades
which is 5 out of 5.

Results:

All the students get to know the numbers that they have taken before and the new number “5”, they count them all easily.
FOURTH FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Type of assessment:

Formative assessment, activity. Theme of the week: Purple Day

Curriculum area:

Math

Learning objective:

Recognize number five, memorize numbers from 1 to 5 and write the numbers randomly.

Strand: Numbers

Why did I choose this assessment?

I chose this type of assessment to make an effective Math

lesson.

I chose this type of assessment to progress their fine motor skills through writing and holding the wood sticks.

I chose this type of assessment to expand their imagination.

Description:

the activity is all about a purple octopus that have a big head to write the numbers on his head and count the octopus wood
sticks, or to read the number that’s already written then add the wood sticks while counting which is considers as the legs of
the octopus.

Grading criteria:

Because I have a big number between low and medium level of students it was expected that some of them will be graded with
less than 5 out of ten , but happily all the students marked with 7 and above which is great!

Results:

Generally, All the students have the ability to write different numbers from 1 to 6 and count them by using their fingers or the
wood sticks that considered as the legs of the octopus.
FIFTH FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Formative assessment, activity. Theme of the week: Healthy Food Day

Curriculum area:

English

Learning objective:

Students will learn to pronounce and write the site words, after they recognize the words, they’ll started to put them in different short
sentences.

Strand: Sight words

Why did I choose this assessment?

I chose this type of assessment to promote students socially.

I chose this type of assessment to enhance their pronunciation of spelling words.

I chose this type of assessment because it’s a useful way to target certain sounds and sight words in an engaging way.

Description:

It’s all about flashcards that includes ( Come) and ( Me) so each child will pronounce the words in a loud voice with their expressions and
signals like ( C O M E- Come) then they will whisper it to their friends to make the lesson more enjoyable so the students will never forget
the word.

Grading criteria:

The assessment was so entertaining for all the students levels that most of them get 5 out of 5, but two students that are weak in English so
unfortunately they get less than 5.

Results:

All the students are already recognized the sight words (Come- Me) except two weak students that have difficulties in English and the
pronunciation, so they need hard work and different type of activities that suits their levels.

FIRST SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Distinguish geometric shapes: triangle, square, rectangle, circle.

Why did I choose this assessment?

I choose this assessment because its like a game, so the students will be excited to try it and I will know their
understanding level for the shapes lesson. This assessment could help me to know each student level in math.

Description:

In a website, a monster ask the student to choose a shape such as; “can you find the circle?” and the students should
choose if its correct the monster jump and if its wrong he say; “try again” each time I choose one student to try and find
the shape. I let all the students try so I can see their understanding level.

Grading criteria:

I have graded this assessment by taking some notes about the students while they doing the assessment at the end of the
lesson.

Results:

All the students were understanding the shapes and they solve the question correctly. Few of them were thinking before
choosing the correct shape but they solve it correctly, because this section is so smart.
SECOND SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Type of assessment:

Curriculum area:

Literacy

Learning outcome:

The students will be able to know and recognize new letter and the sound of the letter.

Strand:

Phonics

Why did I choose this assessment?

I choose this assessment because it will help me to see if the students can write the letter, and it will give a chance
for each student to try writing the letter. This assessment also will going to develop their fine motor skills by
using the marker to write.

Description:

At the end of the lesson, I pick the students and let them write the letter M on the white board using the markers
to see if they are able to write the new letter or not. This assessment will let me look at their writing skills.

Grading criteria:

I have graded this assessment by using a checklist that include 2 columns “Student Can” “Student Can’t”. I put
a correct sign if they can write the letter and X if they can’t write it next to each student’ name.

Results:

Some of the students need more practice on writing the letter, some of them know how to write the letter from the
first time.
THIRD SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Theme of the week:

All about apples

Curriculum area:

Math

Learning outcome:

Why did I choose this assessment?

I choose this assessment because it will develop their skills and muscles, they will be excited and every one
want to try it because its like a game for them. It will encourage them to learn the shapes more in easy way.

Description:

I choose 3 students, and tell them to jump on a certain shape for example” jump on the square”, they jump
and if its wrong I give them one chance to change if they jump again on a wrong shape I let one of the students
help him and I tell him which one is the correct shape.

Grading criteria:

I have graded this assessment by using a report, it include each student name, next to each name happy and
sad face, happy face means student can recognize the shape and sad face means student can’t recognize the
shape.

Results:

Almost all of the students know and recognize the shape, just few students need more reviews on the shape
lesson.
FOURTH SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

Summative assessment

Theme of the week:

Flag Day

Curriculum area:

Math

Learning objective:

Writing all the numbers from 1 to 20.

Strand:

Numbers

Why did I choose this assessment?

I chose this type of assessment game to get students motivated and enthusiasm during the testing assessment.

Description:

The assessment is all about a kite game test that contains a number then I will choose a child to add the cloth pins, then the child
will count with his colleagues all together and add the cloth pins depending on the numbers that laminated so I can write numbers
randomly and erase them to have the next number.

Grading criteria:

Most of the students gets 5 out of 5 and the others gets 4.

Results:

Happily, all the students get involved and interacted during the test with a good understanding which is great!
FIFTH SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Type of assessment:

Summative assessment

Theme of the week: Career Day

Curriculum area:

Literacy

Learning objective:

Students will be able to know the right sound from the pictures.

Students will be able to identify pictures, pronounce the sounds and name the picture.

Strand: Phonics

Why did I choose this assessment?

it’s important to have like this type of quizzes that covers all the sounds for Kg2, because they’ll turn grade 1 and they have to be well
prepared.

Description:

It’s a quiz that covers all the sounds with pictures and the students will circle the right sound depending on the pictures then they can
identify the pictures.

Grading criteria:

Most of the grades are in between 7and 9 out of 10 and the excellent group gets stars on their table and make a checklist to observe
their work, it’s all as a reinforcement.

Results:

Mostly, the students recognized all the sounds and I’m proud of them because some of them entered Kg2 directly, but I have few
students that needs more practice and hard work to reach the standard level.
