BACKGROUND
Drive Safely is totally related to road safety, first we’ll focus on road safety.

 Road Safety Theme for the year 2015 -“DEVELOP A SECURE TRADITION
FOR BETTER SUPPLY CHAIN.”
 Road Safety Theme for the year 2016- “TIME FOR ACTION”
 Road Safety Theme for the year 2017- “ YOUR SAFETY KEEPS YOUR
FAMILY SECURE”

This year we shall be focusing on how traffic rules and dissuade people
from using the banned synthetic string, popularly known as Chinese thread.

Road Safety Week 2018 runs from November 21st to November 27th.
ISSUES
Various issues that are the cause of several accidents and deaths on road is
usually because of-

● Drunken driving
● Under-age driving
● Not wearing a seat belt/helmets
● Using cell phone during driving
● Over speeding
● Jumping the traffic lights
● Careless driving
● Driving on footpaths making it unsafe for pedestrians

 Data for 2017- 1,46,377 accidents overall in country with 400 deaths per day

 In the age group of 18-45 – 68.6% during 2017

 Highest number of Road Deaths – Uttar Pradesh -20,142 deaths

 Road accidents decline by 4.1% during 2016

 Most dangerous cities as per road accidents- Chennai & Delhi
