 La familia de los dioses

Urano, cuya traducción es el cielo, era el padre de todos los dioses en la familia astrológica. Y Gea,
cuya traducción es la tierra, era la Madre. Ella no estaba feliz con él, así que pidió ayuda a sus hijos.

 El Mito

✣ En la Teogonía, Hesíodo narra que Urano detenía a sus

hijos en el seno de su madre cuando estaban a punto de nacer
ya que este se avergonzaba de ellos, por lo que Gea ingenio
un plan para vengarse de él, así que le pidió ayuda a
los Titanes, pero solo Crono estuvo dispuesto ayudarla. Gea
talló una hoz de pedernal y se la dio Crono, este la uso para
castrar a su padre y arrojar los genitales tras él.

✣ Las gotas de sangre derramadas de los genitales dieron como

fruto a las Erinias y Ninfas, a demás los genitales de
Urano al ser lanzados al mar produjeron una espuma de la
cual nació Afrodita.

✣ Ahora bien, Crono encerró a su padre en el Tártaro junto con

los cíclopes y hecatónquiros a quienes también les temía,
convirtiéndose así en el rey del universo. Por lo que Urano
predijo que los Titanes serian castigados por su traición,
anticipando la victoria de Zeus contra Crono.
