2.Indian Space Science Data Centre (ISSDC)

• Indian Space Science Data Center (ISSDC) is the primary data center for
the payload data archives of Indian Space Science Missions.
• It is responsible for the Ingest, Archive, and Dissemination of the payload
data and related ancillary data for Space Science missions like
Chandrayaan, Astrosat etc.
• The primary users of this facility will be the principal investigators of the
science payloads. In addition to them, the data will be made accessible to
scientists from other institutions and also to the general public.

• Hassan, a district town of Karntaka hosts one of the important centre of ISRO
Master Control Facility Centre(MCF)
called-
• It controls all the Geostationary / Geosynchronous satellites of ISRO, namely,
INSAT, GSAT, Kalpana and IRNSS series of satellites.
• MCF is responsible for Orbit Raising of satellites, In-orbit payload testing, and
On-orbit operations all through the life of these satellites.
• MCF activities include round-the-clock Tracking, Telemetry & Commanding
(TT&C) operations, and special operations like Eclipse management, Station-
keeping manoeuvres and recovery actions in case of contingencies.
Ammonium Perchlorate Experimental Plant
ALUVA,KERALA
• The manufacture of ammonium perchlorate, which is an
important constituent of solid propellant that powers rockets
is carried out here.
• experimental plant that manufactured 12 tonnes of
ammonium perchlorate a year to a full-fledged production
facility that produces 300 tonnes now. This led to a demand
from speakers at the function that it be renamed as
"Ammonium Perchlorate Excellence Plant."
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,KERALA
• A Southern state Kerala Capital city hosts about 4 centres of ISRO namely-
• It is the lead centre of ISRO responsible for the design and development of
launch vehicle technology.
• The Centre pursues active research and development in the fields of
aeronautics, avionics, materials, mechanisms, vehicle integration,
chemicals, propulsion, space ordnance, structures, space physics
and systems reliability.
• The design, manufacturing, analysis, development and testing related
to the realisation of subsystems for the different missions are carried out.
2. Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC)
Department of Space,Valiamala PO,Thiruvanthapuram
• There are five Regional Remote Sensing Service Centres (RRSSCs)in India.
• All of these are integrated with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC)
located in Hyderabad.
• RRSCs support various remote sensing tasks specific to their regions as
well as at the national level.
• They support fields in natural resources like agriculture and soils, water
resources, forestry, oceanography, geology, environment and urban
planning.
