What do we mean by Integrated
Management System
 Management System is a set of policies, processes and procedures used
by an organization to ensure that it can fulfill the tasks required to
achieve its objectives.

 Integrated means combined; putting all the internal management


practices into one system but not as separate components.

 An integrated management system (IMS) is a management system


which integrates all components of a business into one coherent system
so as to enable the achievement of its purpose and mission.

Why should management systems be
integrated?
 Be consistent within the organization.

 Improve internal and external communication.

 Avoid duplication and gain cost savings.

 Focus organization onto business goals.

 Harmonise and optimise practices.

 Identify and facilitate staff training and development.


Quality management System
 Quality refers to all those features of a product (or service) which are
required by the customer.

 Quality management means what the organization does to :

1. ensure that its products or services satisfy the customer's quality requirements and

2. comply with any regulations applicable to those products or services.

3. enhance customer satisfaction, and

4. achieve continual improvement of its performance


Environmental management System
 Environmental management. This means what the organization
does to:

1. minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities,

2. to conform to applicable regulatory requirements, and to

3. achieve continual improvement of its environmental performance.


Health & Safety Management System
 Health & safety management. This means what the organization
does to:

1. reacted to work-related incidents.

2. control the risk across the different operation processes.

3. Take preventive /corrective actions towards any accident.

4. achieve continual improvement of its performance

IMS Standards
 QMS (ISO 9001:2015) : -The Customer

 EMS (ISO 14001:2015) : -Stakeholders, Regulators

 OH&S (OHSAS 18001:2007) : -Primarily Employees


IMS Standards
 ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are generic standards. Generic
means that the same standards can be applied:

• to any organization, large or small, whatever its product or


service,

• in any sector of activity, and

• whether it is a business enterprise, a public administration, or a


government department.

 It means that an independent, external body has audited
an organization's management system and verified that it
conforms to the requirements specified in the standard

 Certification is a decision to be taken for business

 if it is a contractual, regulatory, or market requirement,
 If it meets customer preferences
 it is part of a risk management programme, or
 if it will motivate staff by setting a clear goal.
What is required
 Issue a documented procedures / work instructions for
our processes.

 Create the required forms for the operation

 Start to record the data & maintain these records

 Select internal audit team to perform the internal auditing
