Safety in tall Buildings is a major


concern for the loss of human life and
property.

The time available to leave the danger zone


must be longer than the time needed to make
the person to evacuate the building.
 Blocked cooling vents.
 Overloaded electrical systems.
 Fuel storage areas with high oxygen concentration.

warning of fire.
 All construction materials must be non-
combustible.
 The interior finish materials should not be
inflammable.
 The internal wall of staircase should be in brick or
RC with minimum 2 hrs fire rating.
 Proper ventilation should be provided in every
landing of staircase.
 Electrical distribution cables are laid in a
separate duct.
 The ducts are sealed with non-combustible
materials.
 Emergency lights are provided in staircases
and corridors.
 All wires and other accessories used for
emergency lightings shall have fire retardant
property.
