EXEMPLE
“The Fictions of Blood in ‘La Fuerza de la Sangre’”
The subject of blood purity has recently been studied in Cervantes with
respect to DQ and La Numancia, but I will focus on a Cervantine work
whose interpretation hinges on the meaning of blood: “La Fuerza de la
Sangre,” which explores the public acceptance of the absurd fiction of
limpieza de sangre while also reflecting on the limitations and possibilities
of genre […]
Previous readings of the novela have discussed the centrality of blood, but
they do not explore the simultaneous proliferation of meaning and
specificity that Cervantes allows for […] I contend that blood signifies
much more than mere honor, and that both the novela’s social and literary
critiques are even broader that this and other readings suggest […]
“Constructing the Female Body”

The human body has lately turned into a central topic of discussion,
interrogation, and investigation, it has become an important research theme
for various studies, such as anthropological, sociological, gender or mass
media studies, all of them sheltered by the generous umbrella of cultural
studies. Numerous articles and books have been written lately on this
subject, many debates and conferences have had the human body as a main
topic of discussion over the last few years. All these discourses have tried to
prove that the modern human body is a social product, a socially
constructed identity, permanently on display, an entity to be constantly
watched and supervised, controlled, and manipulated.
The 20th-century woman is literally assailed by images of the perfect body
and by advice on how to shape her body in order to match the fashionable
standard […] In this paper I shall try to present some of the most popular
techniques of shaping a fashionable body […]

CONCLUSION
I shall conclude by saying that the 20th century female body has been
characterized by three qualities: slimness, youth, and beauty, these being the
attributes that women have tried hard to obtain throughout the century […]
Being able to manage one’s body, to make it correspond to the ideal image
means being able to manage one’s career, and one’s life.
“Reflection on New Criticism in Gulliver’s Travels”
Jonathan Swift (30 November 1667-19 October 1745) was an Anglo-
Irish satirist, essayist, political pamphleteer (first for the Whigs, then
for the Tories), poet and cleric who became Dean of St. Patrick’s
Cathedral, Dublin. Swift is remembered for works such as A Tale of a
Tub (1704), An argument Against Abolishing Christianity (1712),
Gulliver’s Travels (1726), and A Modest Proposal (1729). He is
rgarded by the Encyclopaedia Britannica as the foremost prose satirist
in the English language, and is less well known for his poetry. He was
a master of two styles of satire, the Horatian and Juvenalian styles.
CONCLUSION
This literary text- Gulliver’s Travels- is a complex one because of its tension- - the
linking together of opposites. It is created by the dynamic interplay among the
text’s opposing tendencies, i.e. among its paradoxes, ironies and ambiguities. But,
all of the multiple and conflicting meanings produced by the text’s paradoxes,
ironies, ambiguities and tension are resolved and harmonised, by their charged
contribution to the theme (or complete meaning). The main chapter’s tensions are
between the humankind and the houyhnhnms. Men are cruel and materialists,
violent and ineffective although they have reason and they suppose to think, and
the houyhnhnms are pacifists and calm, simple and content with what they have.
But both wants to be happy and use their reason to improve their world.
