Product program

Buus´s core business are:

 Ice flaker – capacity from 200 to 10.000 kg/ 24h

 Block ice machines

Products – Iceflakers

Type F
 Ice capacity: 5000 – 10000 kg / 24h

Type E

 Ice capacity: 3000 – 4500 kg / 24h

Brine Type D
 Ice capacity: 1000 – 2500 kg / 24h

Type C
 Ice capacity: 800 – 1400 kg / 24h

Type M
 Ice capacity: 200 – 550 kg / 24h
Products – iceflaker units and block ice plants

Buus iceflakers evaporators

without condensing units.
For ammonia, HFC / HCFC´s
and brine

Buus Iceflakers packets

for secondary refrigerants.

Buus ice machine units.

Air- or seawater cooled.
Freshwater or sea water ice.
Also tropicalized

Plug-In units.
Air- or water cooled.
Ready for operation

FIP Block ice press.

Converts any type of ice
into block ice

 Buus ice machines are compact units with an

optimum performance compared to size

 Due to products-optimizing and choice of materials

an improvment in performance of 15-20% in

comparison to compatible units is not unusual

 The units are seawater proof and produce iceflakes

from slat water without problems – including warm

salt water
Iceflaker options

 Separate system: most of Buus ice machines are

connected directly to existing cooling systems or to

systems built by the customer

 All-in-one system: a “plug in” solution which is an all-

in-one unit combining cooling and freezing

 Split system: Icemaker and cooling unit are placed in

such a way that surplus heating from the cooling unit is

kept away from a production

 Ammonia iceflaker

 10000 kg24h.

 Plugs into existing NH3 plants

 DX and pump circulation

 Brine iceflaker

 Marine version

 Compact

 8000 kg/24 iceflaker

 Ammonia

 Pump circulation
Special Iceflaker

Special iceflakers. For fruit sauce, pet food etc.

Special fluids requires special iceflakers. The iceflakers
are build accordingly to customers wishes. We offer
iceflaker for freezing e.g. strawberry sauce, pet food,

The iceflakers for sauce and other fluids with a high

content of dry matter are build with the ice knife "upside
down". You feed the machine from a vessel.

The product is easily discharged from the iceflaker and

cleaning the machine is very easy since there are no
parts that cannot be reached.
The iceflaker is made with all parts in aluminum so that
you can use e.g. Temper with a temperature down to -
50°c (-55°F).

Efficiency: Compared to a band freezer the iceflaker is

beyond comparison. The aluminum drum transfer the
heat up to ten times better than a steel band. What can
we freeze for you?

 200 - 550 kg/ 24h iceflaker unit

 For land- or marine use

 6000 kg / 24h flake ice unit

 Tropicalized

 Split unit.

 2500 kg / 24h with

Remote condensing unit

Where BUUS technology is applied:

 Fishing industries

 Meat industries

 Marine applications

 Bakeries
Marine Iceflaker
Fishing industries

 SD2500M. 2500 kg24.

 Marine iceflaker
Aluminium drum

 Aluminium drum for high efficiency

 Surface treated for excellent service life
Advantage and disadvantage of Buus Iceflaker

 The drums are anodised which make them last much longer than drum that are not

Advantage: The ice will have the same good quality all the iceflakers life since the drum is not attached
by corrosion

Disadvantage: A brand new untreated drum is a little more efficient than an anodised drum and will
produce more ice per kW than a anodised drum

 BUUS Refrigeration designed the shaft seals

Advantage: Much longer lifetime than any of the similar products on the market.
The risk of leaking is reduced significantly

Disadvantage: A slightly higher price since the number of shaft seals produces is limited

 Machines for slaughterhouses and similar productions are available with automatic drain of the
water chamber

Advantage: Minimizes risk of germ growth in the water chamber when the machines are not running

Disadvantage: It takes approximately ten minutes before the water chamber is filled with water and the
machine will produce ice after it has been emptied

 BUUS flake ice machines are made by high grade stainless steel and food approved plastics. The
same materials are used for both land- and marine version

Advantage: The machine will always stay the same without corrosion

Disadvantage: A slightly higher price than if it were built with galvanized iron

 All Buus’ iceflakers are delivered with a detailed manual

 Buus engineers can support your in your installations all over the world

 All BUUS machines are listed in our database.

 All spare parts in each machine is listed with description and spare parts number

making it very easy to order. Spare parts are shipped by express mail on a daily

basis. If spare parts are ordered before 12 AM o'clock an express mail company

usually picks them up the same day

 We have an support website where you can get information about pricelists, leaftes

and a lot of useful information for you to download

Future demands

 Buus emphasizes being ahead of future demands regarding laws and regulations

i.e. on environmental issues

 Our equipment meets all legislation accordingly and very often will be step ahead of

the future in this field

 Buus are well into developing a series of products of indirect cooling systems such

as CO2, NH3, propan and Brine

 Buus focus on being an innovative supplier when developing our series of

products, when designing our machines and when optimizing the efficiency of our
