1.Muktangan Mitra drug rehabilitation center:-

Location:-

 Muktangan mitra- mohan wadi, pune alandi road , maji sainik nagar, yerawada, pune ,
Maharashtra.
 Located 3.5 km away from the pune airport and 12 km. from CBD of the city (down town).
Located 6.5 km away from the pune railway station.
CLIMATE :-

Pune has a hot semi-arid climate bordering with tropical wet and dry with
average temperatures ranging between 20 and 28 °C (68 and 82 °F). Pune
experiences three seasons: summer, monsoon, and winter.

Awachat founded Muktangan
Rehabilitation Center on August 29th,
1986. Today, it has achieved the status
of being one of the best institutes in the
field of Drugs & Alcohol de-addiction and
is the only institute with ISO 9001:2008
certification. Muktangan has a capacity
to cater to over 120 residential clients.
Its treatment module is of 30 days
residential stay and on completion of the
same, there is a regular follow up, for
which the center has a strong network of
follow up centers all over Maharashtra.
PHILOSOPHY BEHIND DESIGN:-

The idea of project was to design a building that would have a therapeutic value.
contributing to the healing process of the drug addict . a balance was stuck
between the sense of freedom and disciplinary control. the design unifying
transparency becomes expressive of this freedom and increase the physical and
visual interaction their by reducing isolated alienated feeling, even the main
entrance is transparent. the transparency, the cutout, terrace balcony and the
seating encourage the patient open up.

Context/site and surrounding:-

Residing within the forests of the

Netherlands, rehabilitation center
groot klimmendaal hides
between the trees like a quiet
deer. It blends with its
surrounding landscapes and
architecture and is accessible by
a street with bicycle and
pedestrian paths.

CLIMATE:-

The Netherlands have a temperate maritime climate influenced by the

North Sea and Atlantic Ocean, with cool summers and moderate winters.
Daytime temperatures varies from 2°C-6°C in the winter and 17°C-20°C in
the summer.
CONCEPT BEHIND DESIGN:-

It guides the continuity between the interior and exterior is through the
improvement of positive kinesthesis. The subtle and the practical design ensures
that the residents of the building are not feeling enclosed.

architect Koen van Vaelsen made sure that no part of the building is
isolated. Community spirit and a positive sense of physical movement
are achieved through this.

Design highlight:-

 The design aim to change stereotypical image of rehab centers and create a
welcoming and comforting environment for its users.

Architecture of the building disowns the typical health care center design.

The building is cladded with brown anodized aluminum panels which despite of
its size, makes the building dissolve within its surroundings.

The design of center highlights the healing capacities of nature.

Sited inside the forest of Arnhem in the netherlands,The curtain wall and
generous glass use in its façade invite the forest inside the building.

The building hosts multiple leisure and recreation facilities such as fitness
center
a gym, and a theatre in its entrance level .

The interiors of the building emphasize the patients anxiety and distress
through the use of diverse but subtle colors.

Environmental consideration:-

The use of energy is reduced by the concept design of the building and
the design of the mechanical and electrical installation. Most notably,
the thermal storage (heat and cold storage ) contributes to the reduction
of energy consumption . The choice of selecting sustainable building
material
Requiring little maintenance for floor finishes, ceilings and façade
cladding ,result in a building which can be easily maintained and with
long lifespan.
