“CORRELATION BETWEEN DIABETES

MELLITUS AND LIFE STYLE”

 INRODUCTION

Modernization changes one's lifestyle to be more practical

including diet. Diabetics often do not pay attention to his
lifestyle. There are still many people with diabetes mellitus who
are not regular in consuming everyday foods even people with
diabetes mellitus are still there who do not pay attention to the
type and amount of food. Based on the background above we will
conduct survey correlation between diabetes mellitus and
personal life style.
 METHODS
• This research is descriptive quantitative.
• For analyze the data we used the chi-square test to
determine the relationship between the cause and diabetes
mellitus, BMI, and percentage.
• N = 30 Responden (18 respondent and without diabetes
mellitus 12 respondent)
• Location: in Klojen sub district
• Time : November 2017

 RESULT & DISCUSSION
Gender and diabetes mellitus crosstabulation

The result of statistic test to know relationship between gender and

diabetes mellitus with chi-square test obtained result of analysis
showing X2 count = 0,812 less than (<) X2 table = 3,841 (db = 1, a =
0,05). Then the decision we take is to accept Ho and reject Ha which
means no significant between sex and disease. The number of sexes of
women and men with similar diabetes mellitus in the data obtained is 9
people.

 Last Education and diabetes mellitus crosstabulation

The result of statistic test to find out the correlation

between the influence of last education and diabetes
mellitus using chi-square test, which X2 count = 4,517 less
than X2 table = 9,488, means means Ho accepted and Ha
refused means there is not a relationship between last
education and diabetes mellitus

The result of statistic test was done to find out the correlation
between the work with diabetes mellitus using chi-square test and
the result of the analysis showed that X2 count = 7.677 less than (<)
X2 table = 11,070 (db = 5, a = 0,05 ). So the decision we take is to
accept Ho and reject Ha. Which means there is no significant
relationship between the kinds of work with the disease. the highest
number of people affected by diabetes mellitus on the choice of
self-employment and other jobs such as laborers, farmers, chicken
noodle sellers, and so on, with the number of people each the same is
6 people.

mellitus using chi-square test. The analysis also obtained X2
count = 1,7048less than X2 table = 5,991, which means Ho
accepted and Ha refused accepted means there is no a
significant relationship between type of work and Diabetes
mellitus deseases.

Family History with Diabetes Mellitus and diabetes mellitus

between the influence of consuming sugar and the incidence
of diabetes mellitus using chi-square test, which mans Ho
refused and Ha accepted means there is a relationship
between family history of Diabetes mellitus and Diabetes
mellitus deseases. The results of the analysis also obtained X2
count = 0,0893 less than X2 table = 3,841, means there is no
significant relationship between family history of Diabetes
mellitus and Diabetes mellitus deseases.

between the influence of consuming sugar and the
incidence of diabetes mellitus using chi-square test, which
means Ho refused and Ha accepted means there is a
relationship between diabetes mellitus The results of the
analysis also obtained X2 count = 11.212 and X2 table =
5.991 means often consume sugar has an effect on
diabetes mellitus compared with that not or rarely
consume sugar.

count = 3,405 less than X2 table = 5,991, means there is not
significant relationship between consume instant food and
Diabetes mellitus deseases.

The result of statistic test to find out the correlation between physical
activity and diabetes mellitus using chi-square test and obtained the
result of analysis showing X2 = 8,872 bigger than (>) X2 table = 5,991
(db = 2, a = 0,05). So the decision we take is to reject Ho and accept Ha
which means there is a significant relationship between the activity
with the disease. in the data table of people with diseases mostly rarely
do physical activity amounted to 14 people. Usual physical activity such
as running, spring, gymnastics and so on.

Result of statistic test to know relation between smoker and

diabetes mellitus using chi-square test. The result showed that
X2 count = 1.918 less than X2 table = 5,991 (db = 2, a = 0,05).
then the decision we take is to accept Ho and reject Ha which
means there is a significant relationship between physical
activity and disease. In the data, people with diabetes mellitus
who never smoked showed the highest number of smokers ever
smoked 2 people or even never a penny at all that is 11 people.

Alcohol Consumption and diabetes mellitus

The result of statistic test to know the correlation

between alcohol consumption and diabetes
mellitus using chi-square test and obtained the
result of analysis showing X2 = 158,888 bigger
than (>) X2 table = 3,841 (db = 1, a = 0,05). So
the decision we take is to reject Ho and accept
Ha which means there is a significant relationship
between alcohol consumption with disease. in the
data table of people with illness most people
never consume alcohol as much as 15 people
and 3 people who ever consume alcohol.

 CONCLUSION
Conclusions from the results of the study for 30 respondents Type
diabetes mellitus disease more attacked in the age group 51-60 years.
The results of the Body Mass Index (BMI) measured by diabetes are
the most popular are normal weight. Lifestyle associated with the
disease of people who consume sugar and excess alcohol as well as
physical activity is done. While that does not affect people suffering
from disease that is about the last education, type of work, work
done, family history, sex, and consumption of instant foods are also
smokers
