WELCOME

 The first ever World Bank funded Dairy


Development integrated project was launched in
1975 on cooperative principles covering 8
southern districts initially and KDDC was setup
for implementation.

 KMF came into existence in 1984 & Dairy


Development activities were extended to cover the
entire state under Operation Flood-II.

 OF-II ended in 1987 and the process of Dairy Development continued


through 13 District Milk Unions under OF-III from 1987 to 1996.

 From 1996, Perspective Plan works are under implementation and


from 2013, National Dairy Plan – 1 is under implementation in
coordination with NDDB.

• Koppala Dairy with 60-100 TLPD capacity Flexi Pack Plant at an estimated cost of
Rs.38 Cr.
• Mega Dairy at Mysore 6 LLPD capacity expandable to 8 LLPD at an estimated cost of
Rs.124 Cr.
• New 3 LLPD to 5 LLPD capacity Dairy and 2 LLPD UHT Plant at Chamarajanagara at
an estimated cost of Rs.125 Cr.
• Establishment of new dairy at Bagalkot with a capacity of 50 TLPD -1 LLPD at an
estimated cost of Rs.29 Cr.
• Establishment of New Dairy at Davanagere for SHIMUL of capacity 3LLPD to 5LLPD
at an estimated cost of Rs.85 Cr.

• Establishment of Deep Freezers at Chellaghatta an estimated cost of Rs.12 Cr.
• Establishment of 300 MTPD New Cattle feed plant at Arakalagoodu at an estimated
cost of Rs.78 Cr
• Construction of Bull mother farm development at Nandini Sperm Station,
Hessaraghatta, at an estimated cost of Rs.4 Cr.
• Establishment of Packing Station at SHIMUL dairy at an estimated cost of Rs.25 Cr.
• Construction of Staff Quarters at KMF CO Premises at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 Cr.
• Establishment of New 300 MT capacity Cattle Feed Plant at Dharwad at an
estimated cost of Rs.23 Cr.
• Establishment Uppoor Dairy of capacity 1.5 – 2 LLPD at Udupi District. Rs – 80 Cr
• Chikkaballapura Dairy with UHT Plant at an estimated cost of Rs. 100 Cr
• Establishment of new mega dairy and Milk products plant at Kanakapura – Rs.447

(both members and non-members) pouring milk to Dairy Cooperative Societies in the
state w.e.f. 09.09.2008
• This Milk Price incentive was increased to Rs. 4 w.e.f. 14.05.2013

State are suffering from malnutrition,
resulting in improper physical & mental
development
• For healthy growth and all-round
development of children, Karnataka Govt.
launched “Ksheerabagya”, on the suggestion
of KMF
• Launched on 1st Aug 2013
• Govt. Schools covered - 55,683
Number of School children covered – 64 lakhs (from 1st Standard to 10th )
• WMP required per child – 18 gms/150 ml milk given five times a week (WMP
required per month – 1200 MTs). Milk disposal per day for powder – 5 LLPD
• The scheme was launched on 1st

 Perennial flow of cash into village economy

 Regular income has resulted in economic
upliftment of farmers, helping to obtain
timely critical inputs for agriculture
production, emergency needs of family and
other educational needs of children.
 Even in worst drought conditions, migration of farmers has stopped from
villages
 Rural employment generation is to the extent of 48000 apart from 24 lakhs
of farmer members at DCS.
 Facilitated women to have control on milk money which enhances
empowerment of women
 Feeding milk to farmers children has augmented the nutritional status
 Standing in common queue breaks down the barriers of caste, age, sex &
economic status with a new social outlook.

KMF and its District Unions have won many National Productivity
Awards, National & State Energy Awards, Marketing Awards, etc.
To give remunerative price to producers and to give value for money to customers,
the Federation is striving to excel on three critical factors of business–
