DEFINITION OF
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area
of computer science that emphasizes the
creation of intelligent machines that work
and react like humans and branch of
computer science that aims to create
intelligent machines.
HISTORY OF
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
The seeds of modern AI were planted by classical
philosophers who attempted to describe the process of human
thinking as the mechanical manipulation of symbols. This
work culminated in the invention of the programmable digital
computer in the 1940s, a machine based on the abstract
essence of mathematical reasoning. This device and the ideas
behind it inspired a handful of scientists to begin seriously
discussing the possibility of building an electronic brain.
HISTORY OF
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
1949, Donald Hebb publishes Organization of Behavior : A
Neuropsychology Theory in which he proposes a theory about
learning based on conjectures regarding neural networks and the
ability of synapses to strengthen or weaken over time.
1950, Claude Shannon’s “Programming a Computer for Playing
Chess” is the first published article on developing a chess-playing
computer program.
1950, Alan Turing publishes “Computing Machinery and Intelligece”
in which he proposes “the imitation game” which will later become
known as the “Turing Test.”
EXAMPLE OF
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
• Games Playing
• Expert System
• Natural Language
• Neural Network
• Robotics
ADVANTAGES OF
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
• Can take on stressful and complex work that
humans may struggle/can not do.
• Can complete task faster than a human can most
likely
• To discover unexplored things. i.e. outer space
• Less errors and defects
• Function is infinite
DISADVANTAGES OF
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
• Lacks the "human touch“
• Has the ability to replace human jobs
• Can malfunction and do the opposite of what they
are programmed to do
• Can be misused leading to mass scale destruction
• May corrupt younger generation
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT AND
NATURAL INTELLIGENT
The difference between artificial intelligence
and natural intelligence are artificial intelligence
is more permanent, while natural intelligence can
be changed (this is because human nature is
forgetful or creative). The artificial intelligence
is more easily copied and transferred rather than
natural intelligence.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT AND
NATURAL INTELLIGENT
Providing computer services easier and
cheaper than bringing in someone to do a job in a
very long time. Artificial intelligence is
consistent because it is part of the computer
technology, while natural intelligence can be
fickle.
