Legal Bases
WHEREAS, Republic Act 10742
Chapter II Section 4 the Katipunan
ng Kabataan;
- There shall be in every barangay
a Katipunan ng Kabataan to be
composed of all the citizens of the
Philippines residing in the barangay
for at least six (6) months, who are
at least fifteen (15) but not more
than thirty (30) years of age, and
who duly registered in the list of
the Commission on Election
(COMELEC) and/or the records of
the Sangguniang Kabataan
Secretary.
WHEREAS, under the RA 10742
Section 5 Powers and Function of the
Katipunan ng Kabataan;
- The Katipunan ng Kabataan shall ; (a)
Elect the Sangguniang Kabataan
Chairperson and members, and (b)
Serve as the highest policy-making
body to decide on matters affecting the
youth in the barangay. As such, the
Sangguniang Kabataan shall consult and
secure the concurrence of the
Katipunan ng Kabataan in the
formulation of al its, programs, plan
and activities.

Legal Bases
WHEREAS, Republic Act 10742
Section 6 Meetings of the
Katipunan ng Kabataan;
- The Katipunan ng Kabataan shall
meet at least once every six (6)
months, or at the call of the
Chairperson of the Sangguniang
Kabataan or upon the petition of
at least one-twentieth (1/20) of its
members, to decide on important
issues affecting the youth of the
barangay.

“ Magandang buhay! Isang masiglang pagbati sa

inyo kapwa ko kabataan! Bilang isang ATE ng
mga kabataan, nais kong magbigay ng mensahe
sa dapat nating tandaan na sa bawat oras na
lumilipas ito ay hindi natin matatakasan kaya’t
hangga’t tayo ay bata pahalagahan natin ang
mga bagay na mayroon na tayo. Dahil darating
ang panahon na tayo ay tatanda rin at ang mga
ala-ala ng kahapon ay mananatili na lang na
gunita ng nakaraan at hinding hindi na
maibabalik pa. Mabuhay kabataan ng
Kalayaan!”
