Caracterização via Lente Térmica e Luminescente das
Cerâmicas Transparentes Y2O3 dopadas com Eu3+ e Tm3+
Introduction
We studied together both the optical and thermal properties through the
techniques of Thermal Lens and conventional spectroscopy with purpose to
present the potential of the transparent ceramics with these ions for photonic
devices.
This is to equalize 𝐹𝑒𝑥𝑝 coming from the rare earth absorption spectrum , with
𝐹𝑐𝑎𝑙 , resulting in a linear combination of these forces with the Judd-Ofelt
parameters Ω2 , Ω4 , Ω6 [5,6]

This technique involves in the use of two laser beams mismatched mode, A prove
laser and the other excitation laser. When the laser propagates through the
sample results a variation of the intensity 𝐼 𝑡 , [7,8]

Conclusion
We obtained the thermal properties of the Y2O3 ceramic matrix, in terms of thermal
diffusivity D = 26x10−3 cm2 /s, thermal conductivity 𝐾 = 5.8𝑊/𝑚𝐾, and temperature
coefficient of the optical path change (𝑑𝑠Τ𝑑𝑇 = 2.98x10−6 K −1).
We also obtained the optical properties of Eu3+ and Tm3+ single doped Y2O3 samples.
The traditional Judd-Ofelt theory was not applying in Eu3+ doped samples, requiring a
different analysis by means of the emission spectrum to obtain the radiative
properties.
