INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND AND PROBLEM
• Types of conjunction :
• Additive : and , or, furthermore , similarly , in
addition.
• Adversative : but , however , on the other hand,
nevertheless.
• Causal : so, consequently, for this reason,
• Temporal : then, after that, an hour later, finally, at
least.
• Example ( additive conjunction)
• Doing work with passion will bear great result.
Similarly, doing work professionally will keep you at
the top. ( the example show the additive
conjunction, because the conjunction similarly
indicate that the second phrase contains an
additional fact that is related to the earlier
sentence.
• Example ( adversative conjunction)
• he is rich but he is unhappy. ( the conjunction but
expresses opposition or contrast between two
statement).
• Example ( causal conjunction)
• He is hungry because he does not have food. ( in
this sentence the conjunction because explain
about why he is hungry.)
• Example ( temporal conjunction)
• First, you need to select the fresh lemons. Next, you
cut them into two parts and squeeze them. Add
some sugar to the lemon water. Finally , you can
add some ice in it. ( the temporal conjunction tell
about time, when something happen. So the
conjunction next and finally explain when in time
you select and cut the fruits.)
