A comparative study on the journey of Coke Food

Fest with Lahore Eat in Lahore, 2017

Introduction:
• Coke Food festival is the Pakistan’s biggest and the largest food
and music festival, which aims to bring all the foody people of
Lahore and nearby cities to celebrate food.
• Coke food festival debut in Lahore, presented by Foodies ‘R US
and hosted by Kashmir cooking oil and banaspati, Coca Cola
Pakistan, ActiveMedia and One Platter.
• It is a festival that hopes to become the ‘Coke studio of food’.
• Asad Shiekh is the man, who came up with this idea. He is the
owner of famous facebook group ‘Foodies ‘R US. Coca Cola
Pakistan sponsored Asad Shiekh and they decided to give it a name
as The Coke studio of food. But lately it becomes Coke Food Fest.
• The first ever Coke Food Fest takes place at the Royal Palm Golf
and Country Club in Lahore from 3rd February till 5th February
2017.
• It is a three day festival ranging from a diversity of traditional desi food to
continental, Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Turkish, Lebanese and Italian.
Local or pure

Significance of this festival:

• The significant part of this festival is that it has home-based chefs
who make coke food fest meals quite like a home cooked, with
bringing up the range of many secret family recipes which are from
different generations with unique flavours and tastes.

• While there are several stalls set up by restaurants and cafes. It is

heart-warming to see a good number of stalls set ups by home-
based businesses, especially female entrepreneurs.
Discussion:
• Lahore is the dominant city of province Punjab, the second largest
and carries highest population rate in Pakistan.
• It is famous for its rich food, magnificent traditional art style and
cultural heritage.
• In the present scenario the competitions between food festivals are
increasing very high.
• As people of Pakistan especially in the Lahore city, they are very
much fond of food and love to eat new and exciting dishes.
• So, for this all the food festivals of Lahore are struggling to keep up
their market.
• In every part of life whether it is a student life, a profession, a
festival or any other thing like products of different brands, there
are huge number of competitors and we do have to accomplish our
goals in order to win from our competitors.
• Lahore eat started since 2013, it’s been five years but on the other hand coke
food fest debuted in Lahore 2017 February and it gained much appreciation.
• We all know Coca Cola Company is the most famous beverage company and
it is already recognised by people through coca cola drink and coke studio
seasons.
• So for them it is easy to entertain lahori people.
• Lahore eat and Coke food fest are the food festivals of Pakistan which are
celebrated and are each other’s rivals or competitors.
• Now it depends on people to decide that which event they liked most,
obviously these events are for people.
Personal experience:
• There is a personal experience of mine.
• I had attended both the events Coke food fest and Lahore eat.
• Coke Food Fest is worth of going and enjoying like anything. Its
location and ground is so perfect for anyone, whether he or she is
wearing heels or not. A very comfortable place with no torture of
standing in a long queues but on the other hand in Lahore Eat, it is
impossible to walk without wearing comfortable shoes because there
you have to stand in a long queues, walk a lot and there is also not
enough seating.
• In Lahore Eat there is also a carpool. Stuck traffic and no place to
park your car as the night draws.
• They don’t have an extra space to cover all the traffic and expects
from people to share ride service in order to forego parking hassles.
• On the other hand, in Coke Food Fest, the management seems to be
quite organised with best intentions.
Concept:
• The concept of both of these festivals is quite similar of
bringing people together and celebrating food.

• By creating a feeling of courage and re-energizing the

public spaces. Food is the only binding source between
all of us.
Conclusion:
The research contained in this study indicates that in
qualitative part the management differs and in quantitative
part the size of the location and parking areas differ. Hence,
there is a significant qualitative and quantitative difference
in both the festivals. As well as, Coke Food Fest is giving
the golden chance to home-based businesses, especially
female entrepreneurs to start their business and giving them
the chance to exhibit their talents in front of the world. In
conclusion to this report, with proven results, it is no
wonder that Coke Food Fest is considered to be the
Pakistan’s biggest and organized food festival.
