Wastewater Treatment is one of the most important services provides an overview of the process of wastewater treatment and provides information appropriate for municipal leaders, the general public and operators. To remove the wastewater pollutants to protect the environment and protect public health. How to design major unit operations and processes for treating waste water. How to design sludge thickening systems. Domestic waste water treatment and different technologies of treating waste water. There are the household uses such as showering, dishwashing ,laundry and, of course, flushing the toilet. Wastewater or sewage is the byproduct of many uses of water. Additionally, companies use water for many purposes including processes, products, and cleaning or rinsing of parts. The sewer or collection system is designed so that it flows to a centralized treatment location. The collection system is comprised of smaller sewers with a diameter of about four inches. Inflow is water from a sump pump or a roof leader. This is relatively clean water that should be discharged to a storm water system. Infiltration is water from high groundwater levels. Older sewer pipes may have leaking joints cracks that allows the water to enter the system. Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultrafiltration with a biological wastewater treatment process, the acticated sludge process . It is now widely use for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. Municipal sewage and WWTP effluents are considered to be a major source of pollution, regarding the occurrence of endocrine disrupting compounds(EDCs) in the environment. Although removal potential of many EDCs by conventional WWTPs is recognized, literature data are not easily comparable. To gain an understanding of the characteristics of estrogen decomposition by ozonation, experiments were conducted using effluent from an actual wastewater treatment plant. In this experiment, estrogen was added to effluent at a concentration of 200 ng/l and 20ng/l before the ozonation experiments. The results showed 90% or more of estrogen concentration and estrogenic activity of E2, E1 and EE2 to be removed at an ozone dose of 1 mg/l. At an ozone dose of 3 mg/l, the estrogen concentration and estrogenic activity of E2, E1 and EE2 in the treated water fell below the detection limit. The biological nitrification-denitrification process is widely used for nitrogen removal from municipal wastewater. The annamox reaction is a biological nitrogen removal reaction that completely differs from usual nitrification-denitrification. Under the anaerobic conditions, ammoniac nitrogen and nitrite react producing nitrogen gas. The bacteria which participate in the reaction are called annamox bacteria and they are tinged with peculiar red color. There are following merits in the annamox reaction as compared with the conventional nitrification-denitrification reaction. 1) Since about the half of ammoniac nitrogen in wastewater has to be converted into nitrite, the required oxygen amount is theoretically about 50% of that of the conventional nitrification-denitrification process. 2) Since the biological reaction is an autotrophic reaction, carbon source for denitirfication is not necessary. 3) The excess sludge production is small by the same reason. Effective waste-water collection and treatment are of great importance from the standpoint of both environmental and public health. Extensive research activity in this field has led to significant improvement and diversification in the processes and technologies used for waste-water treatment and sludge management.
