Speaking: An Interview

Period 4th-5th/Wednesday/week 2

Students will be able to
 Listen to the interview carefully to
choose true or false and mark the
intonation.
 Participate in class discussion.
 Interview partners about their lives.
Interviewee

 An interview is a
conversation where
questions are asked and
answers are given. In
common parlance, the
word "interview" refers
to a one-on-one
conversation between
an interviewer and an
interviewee. Interviewer
 Ask students who their favourite famous person is?

 How would they feel if they get a chance to


meet that person?

 Would they interview that person in English or mother tongue?

 What would they ask?


 Teacher to ask the students if ever they have
been interviewed?
 Play CD audio track 4 OR read the transcript
from the Teacher’s Resource.
 Students will listen to the Ben’s interview
with his new English Teacher.
(Audio script teacher resource pg 26-27)

 Play the recording again, give a pause after


each question is completed.
 Ex.4 Match the questions answer carefully to
match the questions with the answers. L.bk pg 10
Speaking tip:
Useful
expressions

 Draw a graphic organizer on


the board and brainstorm
the interview questions.
Write students’ ideas in the
graphic organizer.
 Students will present the
interviews. Teacher to
explain that expression and
body language is very
important during interview.
 -be courteous and polite during the
interview.
 -listen carefully and have an eye contact
with the person who is being interviewed
 - finish saying thank you to the person
being interviewed.
