DEFINITION

 Operant conditioning is a method of learning that occurs through rewards and


punishments for behavior. Through operant conditioning, an association is
made between a behavior and a consequence for that behavior.

 children completing homework to earn a reward from a parent or teacher

IN MARKETING
A classic example of positive reinforcement is a brand’s
rewards program, where customers receive rewards for
repeat purchasing, referrals or any other valuable
action. Customers then learn to complete these actions
to earn rewards.
