Thou shalt NOT open email attachments that you are not expecting. People are often infected by computer viruses via email. If you receive email that seems suspicious, do not open them. Thou shalt use caution when sending large attachments. Avoid sending large files (such as several pictures) via email. Doing so, wastes system resources and can cause technical problems. •VI. Thou shalt keep a clean
mailbox and home directory. Delete unwanted sent and received mail on a regular basis. Also delete unwanted files from your home directory. Save a tree and save the ink! While the printers are there to be used, they are not to be used for personal printing or as copiers. Instead of printing lengthy documents or web pages, consider copying and pasting what you need printed or use the “print selection” feature. If, for example, you use a professional artist’s song during a PowerPoint presentation, you should reference that artist’s name as well as the song’s name somewhere in your presentation. Thou shalt obey the DCSC Technology Acceptable Use Policy The Acceptable Use Policy should be obeyed at all times. For example, you must have permission from the technology department to install any software on your computer. Refer to the policy if you have any questions about what is acceptable use with the computer throughout the district.
