PURPOSE:
 Recent research along with anecdotal evidence
suggests that exercise may play a role in mitigating
perceptions of work-family conflict(WFC). However, the
temporal effects related to this relationship have been
ignored. The purpose of this paper is to address this
issue by testing for the effects of acute and long-term
exercise on the work-family interface.
WORK –FAMILY CONFLICTS DEFINITION:
 WFC is defined as “a form of inter-role conflict
in which the role pressures from the work and
family domains are mutually incompatible in
some respect”.
 This construct contains three different type of
conflict:
 Time-based conflicts
 Strain-based conflicts
 Behavior- based conflicts
RESEARCH PROCESS:

 The research involves identifying, locating,

assessing, and analysing, the information need to
support the research question, and developing and
expressing the ideas.
 The seven process are involving the research
process.
 There are given the following information about
the research:
RESEARCH PROBLEM:

 The work and family roles are arguably the

most salient roles to most working adults .
However, employees today find themselves
working and living in home and organizational
environment that often overlap and are defined
by blurred boundaries.
RESEARCH APPROACH:

 Linear mixed model process were conducted to

this research.
 In which factors and covariates are assumed to
have a linear relationship to the dependent
variable.
 The dependent variable is influenced by the
independent variable.
RESEARCH DESIGN:

Type of research :
 This research using exploratory research.

 Objectives of exploratory research is discovery

the ideas and insight .
 It can be flexible and often end of total
research design.
 Exploratory research method using the pilot
survey.
HYPOTHESIS:
 A hypothesis is a conjecture statement of the
relation between two or more variables.
 This research was using the working
hypothesis.
 working hypothesis outcome of exploratory
research. It framed first ,provisionally accepted
and it has to be developed.
 Example: work interference with family and
family interference with work.
DATA COLLECTION:

 This research using the primary data collection.

 Participants were recruited using an
advertisement in a local news paper which listed
all of the eligibility requirement: females the age
of 21-55,employed at least 20 hours per week,
and living a sedentary lifestyle. All responding
individuals were informed and suitability using
the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire.
DATA ANALYSING:
 The sample size of N=46. the average age of participant
was 39(SD=9.96). Participant worked an average of
35.9hours per week( SD=12.80). Using the quantitative
data.

Measurement and scaling:

 WFC was measured at Time 1, Time 2 and Time 3 using
the Multidimensional scale.
 This scale measures time-based and strain-based forms
of WIF and FIW.
 All items used a seven point Likert-type response scale
from strongly disagree to strongly agree.
RESULT:

 Result was fully derived by statistical tool. Basic

diagnostic information regarding our data is
shown in correlation ,means and standard
deviations for the study variable. To proceed ,
we performed a baseline fixed effects model
separately for each from of time based and
strain based interference.
CONCLUSION

 The result of this study do provide empirical

support for the notion of using exercise as a
protective buffer from strain based conflicts.
The increases in self-efficacy, along with the
development of social support systems
acquired through multiple sessions, provide
individuals with the means to negative with
competing role demands (FIW and WIF).
