MITSUBISHI • Mitsubishi SJ 700 Purifier belongs to Selfjectors Series
and it is one of the best selling disc stack centrifuge. It

(SJ 700) is used for removal of water, fine solid impurities, and
sludge from impure oils. It has the maximum bowl
capacity of 700 LPH. Mitsubishi SJ 700 separator
prevent engine breakdown by removing all the
impurities from engine oil.

SEPARATION
• Unseparated oil is fed into the bowl through the inlet, led by the distributor toward the periphery of
the bowl. When the unseparated oil reaches the slots of the distributor, it will rise through the
channels formed by the disc stack. The oil is continuously separated from water and sludge as it will
flow toward the center of the bowl. When the cleaned oil leaves the disc stack, it rises upward to
the oil discharge port.
• Separated sludge and water move towards the bowl periphery. In purification, separated water rise
along the outside of the disc stack passes from the top disc channels over the edge of the gravity
disc and leaves the bowl into the common sludge and water outlet of the separator.

a) Automatic operation of one selfjector.
b) Automatic operation of two selfjector.
Manual Operation
Consider all valves are closed.
1. Open Valves A & B.
2. Start SELFJECTOR.
3. After checking the ammeter to confirm that
the SELFJECTOR has reached the rated speed.
4. Open valve E. Fill the container in ¾ level.
5. Close valve A.
6. Open valve D. When the container is empty,
close valve D.
7. Open valve A. When water is flushed out in
the sludge outlet, observe if the water is clean or
dirty.
a) If DIRTY, Repeat steps 4-7.
 b. If CLEAN
8. Close valve A.
9. Repeat Step 4.
10. Repeat Step 6.
If no water is flowing out,
11. Slowly open valve c for oil feed.
12. Observe the discharge sight glass oil
lever. It must be in 50% level.

 Warning
The SELFJECTOR is a high speed rotating machine. Always be careful of its vibrating condition. Be careful
of its operating sound, sludge discharge sound, etc. as well. If any change occurs, stop the machine,
locate the cause and take corrective actions. If the cause can’t be located, do not operate the machine.

B. Lubricant Replacement Intervals
CAUTION
If replacement of the oil is neglected, wear of the spiral gear and damage to the bearing could result.

NOTE:
To replace the lubricant, remove the gear cover and thoroughly clean the inside of the oil tank before
installing a fresh oil.

D. Bowl Opening Intervals (Guidelines)
• First time to open the bowl
– A month after trial run
• Second and Subsequent times
– Every 6 months or longer
– When the SELFJECTOR is used for cleaning the trunk piston engine lubricant, the bowl is generally
contaminated earlier. It is therefore advisable to set shorted interval (2-3months).
E. Overhauling Guidelines
• At least every 2 years (longest)
• When increased vibration cause of wrong replacing and setting of parts.
 What is gravity disc?
• The gravity disc is important part of the purifier, which sets the location of the oil and water
interface line, which is variable according to the maker’s design.
 What is paring disc?
• It is stationary impeller mounted in a chamber at the neck of the bowl.
• Its function is to convert the rotating energy of the liquid into a pressure head.
 Reasons for purifier over flow
1. Too much rate of throughput dirty oil
2. Too much sludge inside the bowl
3. Low speed (RPM) of bowl rotation
4. Sealing failure
5. Worn out main sealing ring
