What is Home Automation?

 Home Automation is a wireless home appliance

control system accessed by a remote device such as
mobile phone(Android or IOS) to allow a home
owner to control, monitor and coordinate home
appliances , without changing home infrastructure.
COMPONETNS USED
 The Main components used in HAAM is
1) Bluetooth module
2) Relay
ANDROID
 Android has an active community of developers
and enthusiasts who use the Android Open
Source Project (AOSP) source code to develop
and distribute their own modified versions of the
operating system.
INTRODUCTION
 There is an increasing demand for smart homes,
where appliances react automatically to changing
environmental conditions and can be easily
controlled through one common device.

 This paper presents a possible solution whereby the

user controls devices by employing a central Field
Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), where control
is communicated to the FPGA from a mobile phone
through its Bluetooth interface.
Bluetooth Module:
 BLE112 is a Bluetooth Smart
module targeted for low-power sensors and accessories.
 It integrates all features required for a Bluetooth Smart
application.
 It is powered directly from a standard 3V coin cell
battery or a pair of AAA batteries.
 In the lowest power sleep mode it merely consumes
500nA and will wake up within a few hundred
microseconds.
Relay :
A relay is an electrically operated switch.
Relays are used where it is necessary to control
a circuit by a low-power signal.
Relays protect electrical circuits from overload or
faults.
Features
 Layers of Protection
 Energy Management
 Expandability
 Remote Access
 Systems are Designed to Work Together
USER BENEFITS
• Increased comfort, convenience and security
• Reduced energy consumption
• Maximum flexibility due to battery-free, wireless
devices
• Plug and Play operation and easy system
expansion
• Extensive cost-savings
Interface :
Working :
 It uses M-8870 DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency)
decoder IC which decodes tone
generated by the keypad of cell phone.

 Data is transmitted as pairs of tones.

 DTMF signal can be tapped directly from the

microphone pin of cell phone device.
Applications :
• Turn Your Webcam into a Security Camera
• Put off the Bathroom Fan Automatically
• Install a Wireless Intercom
• Capture Party Moments without using
your Digital Camera or DSLR
• Use Automatic Sprinklers to Water your
Garden
Advantages:
 Energy Savings
 Convenience
 Security
 Energy Efficiency
 Comfort

Disadvantages:
 Installation
 Complex Technology
 System Compatibility
 Cost
 Human errors
Conclusion :
 Home Automation is undeniably a resource
which can make a home environment automated.
People can control their electrical devices via
these Home Automation devices and set up
controlling actions through Mobile.

 In future this product may have high potential
